Re: howto: install debian, updates, mysql, cherokee web svr,

Good catch on the php5-mysql, I actually rebuilt my server and realised that I'd missed that in the apt-get command line.

The other package I realised I missed was ntpdate, which will sync the time on your pi against an internet server.

Wish I could edit the original post :(

Re: I think I broke it

Thanks for the replies, makes me a little less cranky with myself. I did try reimaging the SD card again when I hit the problem (I went back to the vanilla debian image), but had the same problem. After work I'll attempt to remove all partitions, format again with FAT32 and start fresh. Will update ...

I think I broke it

After removing power cable and SD card from my Pi this morning to reimage the card, I've now found that my Pi won't boot. On the board all I get is the red PWR light. I have an eth cable in. Normally as soon as as I power it up I see the link lights come on. I don't now. The OK light doesn't flicker...

howto: install debian, updates, mysql, cherokee web svr, php

I just ran through this process on my RPi and noted down all the steps I took to do a completely headless install (ie: no monitor or keyboard plugged into the RPi) of the debian squeeze image, update the system, install and run hexxeh's rpi-update tool, set up my ssh authorized keys, install mysql c...

systemd-tools and udev are in conflict

I'm just running through the initial setup of my RPi. I've gone with the archlinux distro (as my 1st project is webcam related and I've read here on the forum that arch "just works"). When I run the pacman -Syu command I see the following: [root@alarmpi /]# pacman -Syu :: Synchronizing package datab...
