Re: working with times and dates

If you just want an integer hour or minute value, you can get it easily once you have a datetime object:

Code: Select all

dt_obj.hour
dt_obj.minute
In a python console you can type

Code: Select all

dir(dt_obj)
To get a list of methods and properties of any variable. You can try help(object) too.

Have fun!

Re: Security and Default Passwords

One hopes that anyone with enough knowledge to set up a web server and drill a hole in the firewall for it, also has enough knowledge to change the password. It's those kind of hopes that allow the proliferation of so many insecure "professionally hosted" web servers out there. I hear wha...

Re: Cross compiling?

Take a look here:

http://elinux.org/RPi_Kernel_Compilation#Ubuntu_Linux

I have 64-bit 12.04 Ubuntu, and it worked as per the instructions.

Re: Debian Wheezy minimal custom image

Hrm. I can't download from the link provided in your blog post :-( On clicking the download to disk image, it just comes up with XML content: <tree> <message type="SUCCESS"/> <require_auth/> </tree> ... does AjaXplorer require a specific client installed? I couldn't tell from their website.

Re: I2C installation

I'm an idiot.

make ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=/usr/bin/arm-linux-gnueabi- menuconfig

Rather than make menuconfig, when cross compiling on your Ubuntu host. Ho hum. Getting past the .config compile issues now!

Hope this helps.

Re: Debian Wheezy minimal custom image

Nice one. I'll be having a play with this tomorrow.

Can you elucidate any on A custom 3.1.9+ kernel with latest raspberry pi patches? Do you have a list of what's been patched?

Re: I2C installation

I know it's not much of a consolation, but I'm having the exact same problems with kernel re-compiling to support I2C etc. I think my main issue is not getting the .config file right. Following the wiki instructions doesn't quite help answer all the new options that have to be set, and using make me...
