Re: Disabling ISP processing blocks

Thanks for your time, it did work finally. I had to pass the parameters before enabling the the camera component, now the options work as well as combinations of them. Is there any reference of what each bit does beside the bits mentioned above?

Re: Disabling ISP processing blocks

You were right, I did have an older firmware of Mar 3. I update using rpi-update and now I have: Mar 24 2017 13:57:27 Copyright (c) 2012 Broadcom version 7e9eb8ef90a1cfb42aca39c27807d2d145a403a1 (clean) (release) I did try again but no luck, tried to disable various blocks and still I don't get any ...

Re: Disabling ISP processing blocks

According to what you have written above, by disabling the lens shading ISP should fix the problem, right? Also, today I updated to the latest firmware. In order to use the "Disabling ISP Blocks" feature, do I have to compile MMAL or userland again? Because I updated the mmal_parameters_camera.h hea...

Re: Disabling ISP processing blocks

FWIW I tried using this new feature to disable lens shading and it worked for me, in a tweaked version of raspistill. It looks like “lens shading” includes both the software compensations for the red-to-cyan radial color gradient as well as the darker periphery of standard vignetting. It is a set o...

Re: New 8MP Camera - Q&A thread

Sorry, I'm still not clear what you're comparing. As I understand it you've got the sensor producing 1640x1232. You're then comparing the output frames produced with no resize (1640x1232) vs that with a resize down to 640x480. Are you comparing them at the same physical size on screen? In which cas...

Re: New 8MP Camera - Q&A thread

The end of section 6.1 actually covers this, but never mind. The algorithm is not infallible, but scores each sensor mode against the requested mode, with the main criteria being: - Must be able to provide the requested frame rate if at all possible. - The sensor mode flags must allow the requested...

Re: New 8MP Camera - Q&A thread

Hi, I want to ask whats the process for upscaling/downscaling to the required resolution (binning I suppose but 2x2 or what?). I have noticed that when I change resolution to 640x480 the full FoV remains. I read the docs, but my questions still remains... (http://picamera.readthedocs.io/en/release-1...

Get max speed from WiFi

Hi folks! I'm wondering if there is an efficient way to boost up wifi performance. I have already make a wifi hotspot based on https://frillip.com/using-your-raspberry-pi-3-as-a-wifi-access-point-with-hostapd/ (classic) tutorial with hostapd. With iperf3 for testing connection speed I took only 35 t...

Re: New 8MP Camera - Q&A thread

You may be running 1.12 now but that doesn't tell us what you were running before or if you've upgraded. Still, that's only a guess on my part - it's the one explanation I can think of off the top of my head. I think you're right. I update firmware in that time and now I have this problem. http://p...

Re: New 8MP Camera - Q&A thread

One possible explanation is that you weren't using the "real" maximum resolution. Prior to picamera 1.11 being released, the MAX_RESOLUTION value was fixed at (2592, 1944), i.e. the max resolution of the V1 module. Hence even if you had a V2 module attached and set MAX_RESOLUTION you'd still just g...

Re: New 8MP Camera - Q&A thread

You need to drop the preview resolution - have a look at FAQ #15 Dave.[/quote] Thanks Dave for your answer! I have already read this in FAQ and I have 2 questions; 1)The RPi cam. cannot operate real time in 5MP and above from start_preview? If this is true how can I saw this res. before and now I do...

Re: New 8MP Camera - Q&A thread

As camera normally operates for some days, suddenly it starts something like "flickering" and emits black frames at 5MP and above resolutions; flicker.jpg I try to use as simpler script as I could but the camera still plays that way. Here is the script; import picamera import time camera = picamera....

Re: New 8MP Camera - Q&A thread

I've read all the previous posts and I can't find out how to take full res. from the camera in a python script. Sorry for this "silly" question but even when I try to set resolution further from 5MP (1920, 1080) I 've always an error. p.s. I found the CameraPi lib in python3 folder and as 6by9 said...
