FORCE skills improving and I have found that opening the "look and feel" dialog immediatly restores the mouse pointer. Sadly on rebooting the mouse pointer is absent again and I need to find the " look and feel " dialog again.

How can I make this work on boot up of the GUI?

No mouse pointer on hd tv

Everything works fine on my Hdmi hd monitor but i want to put the pi on the TV so the kids can use scratch in the lounge. On the tv the pi spins up ok and the keybaord responds well. Can type startx. Can see the desktop but no mouse pointer. Moving the mouse i can see the icons (bottom left) change ...

I'm writing this because this is a new machine, a new processor, a new environment. I'm not an expert in Linux or Python but I started this journey with a 6502 processor with 2 Kilobytes of memory 38 years ago, so in the intervening years I've learned how to get to grips with things.
