Re: wifi host (AP) and client, cannot switch wlan0

So who are these official people who tell you what is supported and what is not on the rasbian OS? It is just linux after all. If you follow the instructions in the link in the OP you end up with a very stable setup that many people use. I only had trouble when I wanted to switch wlan0 on-the-fly to...

wifi host (AP) and client, cannot switch wlan0

I have a product that uses an embedded raspi zero w. The product uses a web app as its only interface. When the user first sets up the product there needs to be a way for the user to specify the wifi login and password so the unit can connect to the network. This is similar to many products like a c...

mjpg-streamer cropping

I using a raspi w with mjpg-streamer (just like octopi) and it works great. In my webpage showing the stream I often need to zoom in, i.e. crop the image. The problem with this is that I still have to stream the full-size image which is somewhat slow. It would be ideal if I could crop the image befo...

Re: De-cap Camera v2 / Remove Lenses

The holes are 21mm apart but I wonder if you drilled (milled) them in or out to 20mm or 22mm would you run in to any traces or electronics and kill the board? There is a lens holder designed specifically for the raspi camera. It is machined out of aluminum, has the correct hole spacing, and has a cu...

Re: serial over usb problem

I found the problem and it was me. :-) The serial was appearing as /dev/ttyACM0. I was looking for /dev/ttyUSB0.

Re: usb serial problem

I'm not using real (TTL) serial anywhere. I just have a normal USB cable from the PI to the printer. I assume something like FTDI is in the printer interface.

Edit: I changed the subject of my thread to "serial over usb problem".

serial over usb problem

I can't get usb serial to connect. I've tried two different 3d printers, a flashforge creator (makerbot replicator clone) and a printrbot 3d metal. I think both are arduinos. Using software on a Mac I have been talking to both printers with no problem. I've tried an octoprint img and the standard Je...
