Re: Cannot connect to wifi using nm-applet

Found the problem! NetworkManager and wpa_supplicant spammed my syslog with this errors: $ tailf /var/log/syslog Dec 2 11:45:34 intensobox3 NetworkManager[6555]: <info> (wlan0): supplicant interface state: starting -> down Dec 2 11:45:34 intensobox3 wpa_supplicant[689]: ctrl_iface exists and seems t...

Cannot connect to wifi using nm-applet

Hello, We are using Raspberry Pi 3 with Raspbian 8 "jessie". We dropped the "pi" user and added two other users instead, one is "enduser" for a restricted desktop environment. In this desktop environment there is nm-applet running. Problem: nm-applet's menu displays "device is not ready for use" und...

Re: dtc compile cmd give Error: missing files [SOLVED]

When I like to set the bau drate or IOs of the SC16IS75X, I have to write to the registers of the device. How is that possible? Do I need to add this in the overlay? Or is it possible to program the SC16IS75X via i2c and after that to load the device driver?

Re: dtc compile cmd give Error: missing files [SOLVED]

Maybe you have an idea on setting registers on the SC16IS75X, when the overlay is active? I know how to program the SC16IS75X, when the i2c adress is 0x4D, but when it is UU, I don't have a clue.

Re: SC16IS752 (SC16IS7XX driver) Device Tree problem

It works, with SPI and I2C If someone is interested in my work, here it is (first I2C, later SPI): HowTo I2C I’m using a Raspberry Pi 3 with the latest (18.08.2016) Jessie version. i2c is enabled and working. Since last Friday (12.08.2016) it is not necessary to compile the kernel anymore for the NX...

Re: SC16IS752 (SC16IS7XX driver) Device Tree problem

Thanks for the quick response. This explains the sc16is752-spi1.dtbo in /boot/overlays/ I'm going to compile the kernal and try my luck to ask if it is possible to add the module to the standard configurations. Since there is only one UART on RPi3, perhaps more user will have the problem of one UART...

Re: SC16IS752 (SC16IS7XX driver) Device Tree problem

Hi, I came across this post while I was looking after an overlay for the SC16IS752. The post was very usefull and I managed to load two overlays for two SC16IS752 successfully. But besides that I need to recompile the kernel and so on I I read about that here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati...

Re: Rpi3 Suddebly all USB ports stopped working.

C97 looks good, no Voltage on PP27.... USB ports as good as new Turn the RPi off and unplug it from the power supply. Wait a few minutes because of capacity parts and then, yes it sounds strange, measure the resistence over C97. C97 is a capacitor and has to has a high ohm resistence. When it is on...

Re: Rpi3 Suddebly all USB ports stopped working.

Are you really sure that this is your issue? Have you measured the voltage on the test pads? This means, that your RPi boots up normally and only the USB Ports do not work. Do NEVER remove parts from the RPi, if you aren't sure. In this case I would suggest to use a HUB, with an external power suppl...

Re: Rpi3 Suddebly all USB ports stopped working.

I had nearly the same problem with a Pi3 today.
No reaction on the USB Ports and the same message as yours.
I found a solution here:

Just measure the voltage on PP27, when it is not 5V, you've found your problem
