This looks like a cooperation between Google and Adobe, but I don't know of any official statement... Adobe only says "Google provides ...", not that it has been created or is owned by Google. ...If Adobe sent the plugin to the RPF they know what they are doing. Re: Flash Player now available for Chromium

You say that "Looks like Adobe didn't ship you the Adobe Flash binary (libflashplayer.so), Instead they provided you with the non-free Google Pepperflash binary v23 (libpepflashplayer.so)." Are you basing that statement on anything other than the filename of the library? Of course. I extracted the ...

Re: Flash Player now available for Chromium

It's the file name given to the library by Adobe. I assume it is taken from the fact that it is the PPAPI version of Flash Player as opposed to the NPAPI version, rather than Pepper Flash, which is the third-party version of Flash Player from Google. Looking at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/a...

other than the officially supported distributions... or OS'

I am looking for a listing (or to make a listing) of unofficial Desktop Environment (DE) distributions for the Pi 3 used as a PC based on Debian Jessie. For example, these are the ones I know of currently. Are there others? (personally, I am partial to the multimedia/performance OS as it is basicall...

Monitor/display blanking after 10 min? There are tons of posts on how to turn this off or change it. There is even a sticky. It isn't a bug.

open:

Code: Select all

sudo nano ~/.config/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart
add:

You have to locate and find the missing game packs. Also, do not install PIXEL as it is incompatible with OPENGL.

Re: Is it normal for raspbian to just crash?

What is the difference between a lockup and a crash? A chromium browser 'lockup' is when memory is scarce (usually as a result of too many open tabs that are using too much memory) and the pi becomes sluggish/non-responsive. It is easily resolved by closing the open browser windows (which sometimes...

I do not crash, throttle or overheat. Every now and then though i will lockup as a result of chromium browser. Re: Pi3 incorrect results under load (possibly heat related)

This stress test code is all NEON and uses all four cores. On a Pi3 with no heatsink it either crashes the system within a few seconds (and about 75C) or carries on and throttles back. The Pi3 is at stock frequency settings. With a heatsink it always successfully throttles. wget https://raw.githubu...

Has any user of 'PIXEL' actually read the license agreement?

You cannot use the desktop images if you are a commercial entity (because if you are selling/including Raspbian PIXEL in, or with your Pi product, you violate the PIXEL licensing terms). You cannot redistribute them period, for any reason, commercial or not. You ( the end user) do not own them, you ...

Re: Anyone notice that Pixel v51 Chromium browser is snafu'd

Pepperflash plugin is non-free and closed source. All versions we have used so far have been "stolen" from a chrome OS release. AFAIK it is compiled for ARMv7 and no ARMV6 version is available. Adding it to the repository (or even to the chromium-browser package) would break backwards compatibility...
