RPI wise, usb capture seems to be only option.

Re: Simple CCTV: Webcam > RPi > Composite Video?

Managed to find an old SD card tucked away ... was a bit dusty :) After cleaning up things quite a bit, I have pushed the code upto a project on gitlab.com here: https://gitlab.com/raspivideo/raspiv4l Basically, the code uses V4L (Video for Linux) API for capture and then does some processing on the...

Re: PI 2 mpeg2 software decoding revisited

Thanks that interesting info that CPU MPEG2 decoding works minus the interlacing ... and applogies, not had time yet to look into this further :( My plan was to use Kodi (formally XBMC) with the live tv plugin streaming recordings and live tv from a myth backend hooked up to a freesat feed. A sensib...

PI 2 mpeg2 software decoding revisited

Recently got my hands on a raspberry pi 2, and started looking (again) at mpeg2 software decoding - a revisit of an old 2012 thread: http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=5641 Test equipment PI 2: Ordered as a kit from pihut PI 1: 2x Original Model B's from 2012 Common equipment: Me...

Re: Automatically remux MKV to M2TS

From what I understand, ps3mediacenter does mkv => m2ts already on-the-fly, so you could replace MiniDLNA with ps3mediacenter. The performance of the rpi might not be up to this, so the best option might be converting files from download finish triggers in transmission. avconv (or ffmpeg) commands s...

Camera board without IR filter

Hi,

I am after solution for 0-lux video capture with raspberry-pi. Currently best solution looks to be use USB PS3 Eye and remove IR filter by either remove inside lens or remove IR coating from inside lens.

Is there anyone supplying modified Camera Boards with IR filter removed?

Re: Simple CCTV: Webcam > RPi > Composite Video?

I have played with motion, out the box the only output appears to be file based ( mjpeg stream, jpeg our movie clips). I do have some C code working with the following pipeline: V4L -> SWscale (yuv420 to yuv411p) -> deinterlace -> OpenMAX h264 encoder. It can substitute h264 for video_render compone...

Re: "Webcam" direct streaming on HTML page (usb video grabbe

I have an easycap device that uses the Stk1160 chip and the news is not good :( With Kernel 3.6.11+ (which has the legacy easycap driver) I get 720x576 capture - but only at 10-12 fps and streaming stops after a few minutes. With Kernel 3.9.11+ (which uses the newer Stk1160 driver) I can't even get ...

Re: Yet another openmax transcoder

For the past 10 days I've been battling with setting up a transcoding pipeline on the raspberry pi. I have read the sources of omxtx (while it gives the general idea, the code is very unreadable). Hopefully it will be useful for people to get an idea of the sequence of events that have to happen an...

Re: Suport for transform pixel format + Audio Encoders ?

Regarding pixel format conversion, you have the option of trading between CPU usage and memory bandwidth usage. Copying frames back and forth in the memory does not take much CPU, as DMA is used. Your quite right. Only downside I can see is increasing the latency of the pipeline - but it does free ...

Re: JPEG Encoding Example

bbb, I suggest you get one of those el cheapo webcams that spit hardware based M-JPEG stream. (like a Logitech C250) Then you don't have about converting YUYV to JPEG, but focus on the h264 RTP stream instead. Cheers, Might think about that, didn't realise C250 was that cheap and did MJPEG. Will ha...

Re: Suport for transform pixel format + Audio Encoders ?

Thanks. I am not dealing with hd, more like qvga. Yea shame you cant pipe ogl output into openmax il. I likely just leave the pixel format conversion on the ARM. Other wise I end up with extra copies back and forth between ARM and video core: USB -> V4L -> ARM -> GL (VC) -> ARM -> video_encode (VC) ...

Hi, Background to these questions are: I am working using the pi + USB capture device / webcam as a IP camera. I've got h264 HW video encoding working more or less (issues are with generic Linux drivers and not Pi specific). Next steps are getting CPU usage down, and getting audio working as well. S...

hi, I have had some success with a sparkle Pinnacle Dazzle DVC which uses a em28xx chip - which I believe is the same as some of the easycap dongles. for em28xx to work I had to apply a patch to the Linux kernel driver :( from http://bufobufomagic.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/make-disk-image-mac-diskutil-...

Does anyone know if openmax itself supports floats (presumably converting to ints on the GPU)? If so, then it would seem to make it worthwhile (or perhaps adding float support to ALSA if feasible). Not surprisingly, mpg123 was twice ...
