Re: BBC click "unhackable email server"

Was very funny to watch and also very scary that someone can make such bold claims by just installing OLD software on to a RPi, put it in a box and sell for a markup. They say they don't use the RPi now, there is no evidence to that and also is not the fix. It's their use of software and how they pa...

Re: Using Raspberry Pi in commercial security product

Bit of a hype story spreading round the WWW as NomX no longer use the Raspberry Pi in its products ;) In 2016 nomx produced a number of devices based on a Raspberry Pi. These devices were primarily used for demonstration and media use, and were provided to numerous media to review nomx. A number we...

Although I agree with you, I feel your post could have been a little more respectful. You're unlikely to get the desired result, what you are more likely to have done is dishearten the team that run this free resource. Maybe you could consider restarting the conservation by highlighting the issues a...

Re: Pi Clearout

I think part of the problem is that the RPi is such good value people would rather get a new one even though yours is as good as new. It is a strange situation where they are in demand but you find it hard to do a good thing and pass it on to someone who could make use of it. I wonder if there could...

Re: RPi3 with no GPIO pins, or reverse-mounted pins?

I keeping thinking from time to time that it would be nice to be able to buy a RPi3 without the headers, the eithernet jack and usb sockets. (but all chips still in place). But I fully understand why this will probably never happen without putting my hand in my pocket for a big custom run which is w...

Nice project, my attempt at this stopped when I got to the keyboard.

Reading your post makes me think about trying this again with my old ARM based chrome book.

Re: Perf/temp differences between Pi2B V1.1/V1.2 and Pi3B V1

I want RPi 4 with 2GHz quad core SoC and 2GB RAM :( There are other SBC that have these specs and more such as a SATA port. You could also look at picking up second hand mini ITX boards. I built a x86 quad core system with 4 gig ram and fast eithernet + sata for less than £100 for use as a big NAS....

Turkey Blocks, an important cause using the RPi

I've only just came across this project via BBC R4 and after doing a search and not finding any reference on the forums I thought I'll post it here. Apologies if it has been already discussed. The team behind this are in the running for the IndexAwards2017, this is an award system that seeks to try ...

Nobody with more info on this? :( Only thing I can find about the Raspberry Pi 2 Model B V1.2 are the specs. No benchmarks or anything like that. I've checked youTube, can't find any. Be nice to know if the 1.2 Pi2 is the same, for sure. For me a slightly paranoid chap who know's he'll leave the wi...

At which point do you start interfacing with the devices and adding your own sensors. It does have a port at the back, which is the first thing I looked for when I was piped in. :D It looks like it's just a very smart stepper motor. Detects blockages and allows them to set how much the dose is over...

Re: HANGING

What are you seeing that makes you think it has hung? What is it doing when you think it hangs? Check your monitor. What keyboard are you using, is it blue tooth, has it just lost connection? Check your power supply, RPi3 needs a good one, an old phone charger is not an ideal choice. Check your SDCA...

You setup your RPi3 with VNC and get coding of cause. Hopefully the image link below works. I have cystic fibrosis and so see too much of the inside of hospitals, but does have an upside, 100% RPi coding time. :-p
