Re: Develop an application with Netbeans and run in Raspbian

Yes, I know. I'm using a MVP kind of model and I want to be able to program and test at least the view/interface in the computer, then later just pass it to the pi and test it. I'd implement and test de GPIO part later :) Other than that, I've seen a couple of articles of remote programming of the p...

Re: Develop an application with Netbeans and run in Raspbian

Well, to put simply it's going to be an interface that reads/writes the GPIO pins. It's going to use Swing and Awt when it comes to interfaces. Other than that, just typical libraries, such as java.util and java.text.

Develop an application with Netbeans and run in Raspbian

Hi,
I'd like to develop a Java application/interface with Netbeans running in Windows at my computer, and just compile it and execute it in the Pi (with Raspbian). Is there any compability issues?

Recommended language for "pretty" GUI?

Hi guys, I have to make an interface to send/read values to/from an equipment. I was planning on doing that with Java, but God, GUIs on Java are not pretty at all (and I need something that has a pleasant appearence). What would you recommend doing? My 'plan B' would be programming in C# or C++ with...

Re: Analogic Input/output with GPIO

Well, there are happening some changes in the equipment, so roughly 7/8 analogic inputs, 1 analogic output and 5/6 digital pins.

Analogic Input/output with GPIO

Hi guys, I'm going to need to read analog sensors (temperature, pressure, ...) and I searched a bit about ADCs but it's seeming quite complicated for me how to choose one. There's the MCP3008 (the one I've seen the most, I think), but it limitates me to 8 analog inputs and 4 digital pins. I'm going ...

Re: Installing pi4j on Rasp pi 3

Actually, way too soon to say it worked. I used the command sudo dpkg -i /home/pi/Downloads/pi4j-1.1-SNAPSHOT.deb The terminal showed: Preparing to unpack .../pi4j-1.1-SNAPSHOT.deb ... Unpacking pi4j (1.1~SNAPSHOT) over (1.1~SNAPSHOT) ... upgrade Setting up pi4j (1.1~SNAPSHOT) And there was created ...

Re: Installing pi4j on Rasp pi 3

I had completely forgotten about the dpkg command. Used it and worked, pi4j installed in the correct directory. Thanks!

Installing pi4j on Rasp pi 3

Hi, There's a new launch of pi4j that works for the pi3 (it can be seen here http://pi4j.com/download.html it's the 1.1 Snapshot version), but I'm having a hard time installing it. It doesn't seem to be possible to download this version directly through the terminal, so I downloaded the debian insta...

Re: IDE for raspberry pi 3

I didn't know diozero, I'll sure take a look at it. I haven't thought of the possibility of using the remote system explorer, it sure makes things a lot more convenient.
I'll take a look at it now, thanks!

IDE for raspberry pi 3

Hi, I'm going to start a project using Java and while I'm not that new to programming, it's my first time using the raspberry pi 3. To explain it simply, I'll use the pi3 to send/receive data from an equipment using a GUI that's going to show the information each X microseconds and the user can ente...
