Re: Is it possible to install RISC OS on a Pi Zero?

Mikerr - the second link you posted, which had a download for riscos-2016-01-03-RC14_DSI_Zero - actually worked! Many thanks - that's the nth file I've tried and the first that did anything. Hopefully any other Pi Zero owners who struggle to find the right information will eventually find this topic...

Re: Is it possible to install RISC OS on a Pi Zero?

Ah - so it looks as if getting the pi zero to install RISC OS is not possible if you only have a pi zero.

Re: Is it possible to install RISC OS on a Pi Zero?

Part of your reply is incorrect - NOOBS installer comes in a version which *does* contain multiple operating systems I'm always happy to learn something new. Where is that version of NOOBS documented and downloaded please? It took a bit of digging on various forums but one or two posts linked to th...

Re: Pi Zero

tried using win32DiskImager and dropped the riscos-2015-02-17-RC14.img file on to it The PiZero was released towards the end of 2015. No Operating System or Installer released prior to that date will boot up the PiZero without intervention or modification. The NOOBS Installer, even the 'full' offli...

Re: Pi Zero

Is it even possible to install risc os to a Pi Zero? Maybe put that in the subject line and the people that know might answer...because "Pi Zero" is so vague no one cares. Righto - subject line changed. Considering this is the RISC OS part of the forum I thought "Pi Zero" might ...

Is it possible to install RISC OS on a Pi Zero?

Hi there chaps - having a lot of trouble getting Risc OS to install on my raspberry pi zero. I tried using win32DiskImager and dropped the riscos-2015-02-17-RC14.img file on to it - the Pi Zero just remained a blank screen. Then I got NOOBS running (tested with a Raspbian OS that installed correctly...

Re: Polish Operating System

That's terrific news chaps - just the information I was after. Raspbian it is. Your point makes sense that not all the apps will support the language change, but at least he will be able to navigate the Operating System, which is a tremendous start. Many thanks to Dirk and Doug for their assistance ...

Re: Polish Operating System

Hi there - thanks for the reply! I've looked at the site for Raspbian for instance but the FAQ doesn't mention which languages are supported. Unless you're suggesting I install each OS, one by one, on to a Raspberry Pi, and check them that way - which rather defeats the purpose of posting a question...

Polish Operating System

Hi there - bit of an odd request this one. I've bought a Raspberry PI for my girlfriend's Polish dad (an electronics professor) as a Christmas gift. That should keep him sweet. I'd like to put an OS of some kind on the supplied SD card for him but his English is about as good as my Klingon so I was ...

Dear Zwack - you wrote "Moreover Linux is a truly, utterly awful operating system... " "Unix is such an awful operating system that it's still in use even <snip>" for educational use I said dear fellow! For education! Your selective quote may have come from speed reading my post....

Re: RISC OS on Raspberry Pi

Now, as for "nobody is using linux for anything" - absolute tosh. The phone manufacturers are using it to make an awful lot of money... Hi - if you re-read my original post you'll see that I both acknowledge the fantastic number of linux based devices and questioned how many people actual...

Re: RISC OS on Raspberry Pi

Hi there - interesting topic about RiscOS. Just got my Raspberry PI so interested in seeing where the RiscOS port goes. Long rambling post follows. Apologies in advance. I've written some games and apps for the Acorn platform back in the day (Still have my A3010 in the loft) and I'd be happy to see ...

you are all fools

with your carefully dremelled cases, ebayed hardware projects, laser cut acrylic and all that nonsense - here is the case you should have built! awesomecase.jpg Took me 20 minutes with some nails, a stanley knife and a green marker pen. I think you'll agree it has a touch of class. My girlfriend is ...
