Re: OpenVPN tutorial

Post your server/client configs, i would also recommend you anonymise your data in future, external IPs etc.

Bluetooth Scan (hcitool) Failing with Timeout

Hello, after updating raspbian, not sure when, my bluetooth has stopped working, looking around at similar issues in the debian tree I see it is most likely btusb driver. If I issue hcitool scan it pauses for several seconds as usual but returns "Inquiry failed: Connection timed out" See: http://ubu...

Re: ssh from Internet through a router

Most of the time there is no need to change the port on your rpi as your router (probably) can Port Translation so it exposes port 8022 and translates it to 22 internal to your given host .... Exposing ssh on any port should be done with consideration please check your sshd config file for secure op...

Re: OpenVPN tutorial

VPN data port is 1194, can only assume you are expecting to see a OpenVPN Access Server - web based interface .... some reading - http://openvpn.net/index.php/access-ser ... guide.html

Re: Auto start Motion when device leaves network

Nice idea, but does your phone switch-off wlan when idle for a set period of time? :D

I thought about bluetooth proxim for switching motion on/off which is possible but drains my phone battery too quick :?

Re: OpenVPN tutorial

Nice guide, ditch bridge-utils and locate - not necessary. Set key to 2048 imho, 1024 minimum otherwise why are you bothering with vpn in the first place. Could add a bit about adding client setups: 1. Android Keychain using openssl to generate a p12 cert bundle 2. iPhone/iPad using inline config Th...

Re: OpenVPN Problem with Routing Traffic

What does your server logging say? Make sure its switched on in your server conf file, check in /var/log/everything and see what openvpn server is reporting as the connection occurs.

Have you set ip forwarding up?

Look up in file /etc/sysctl.conf config net.ipv4.ip_forward, should be set to 1

Re: Webcam and motion performance

I'm using the new Debian image If I plug in just a USB webcam and "luvcview -s 160x120" (that's the only resolution that works) I get around 2 fps. Then when I start up motion with it's configuration set not to store an image or video file, just to output a message to say motion detected the delay ...

I've had 1024x768 on both Logitech Pro 9000 and Microsoft Lifeecam nx-6000 using motion. Both ran for several hours without problem - apart from the SD card running out of spcae for saved frames ! Motion - Possible Resolution on RPi

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has managed to get a camera hooked up to a RPi to output a higher resolution than 320x240? I am using the PS3 Eye and it can go upto 640x480, however within Motion at-least, it results in "corrupt" frames which cause motion in this case to detect "motion" (yes its tr...
