I would love to see a pixel perfect 240p mode on Raspberry pi... the TV out of raspberry pi sucks in term of quality moreover there is no way to make is progressive (interlace is always on)... But what is you screen anyway ? it's not a plain TV but a VGA/PC monitor ? hdmi_mode=8 is a pixel perfect ...

Hi dom, When I used CEA mode, my monitor can shows a image. But for DMT mode, the monitor just blank during boot. I can see the Pi Zero are booting because the LED is blinking. One last post on the HDMI-component situation. Selecting a 240p mode from the hdmi_modes table does indeed get the adapter to output a 240p signal.
