Great news! I use nomachine daily to access my Linux computer, being able to access my RPI in the same way is a huge benefit!

Re: Speed of the GPIO ports? (For electronic fuel injection)

defn worth a try, but I wouldnt be surprised if you end up finding the timing isnt as accurate as you'd like. multitasking enviroments tend to mess that up. once you get one you'll soon find out when you attach it to an oscilloscope wether the timing will work or not.

Re: What did you do with 16kb RAM

I cant remember what the limitation on turbo pascal was, 16k or 64k. but we utilized it all, even stole memory from the video card by reading/writing to the video buffer lol. We worked around it and it didnt often limit us that badly, you just got more creative.

Re: Audio input

The specs on the audio codec show a mic in, wire up a header and see what you get.

<r>the nysquist rate is generally considered to be 2x to 2.5x less then the samplerate. <URL url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N.....quist_rate">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N.....quist_rate</URL><br/> <br/> so 400mhz would be the top end of a 1gs/s adc, unless you want todo undersampling. <t>Im not sure why you would want the dspPIC to demodulate the signal then output it as audio. you may as well just plug in some headphones to the dspPIC in that case.<br/> <br/> the point of using a quadrature mixer is to downmix the RF freq to a low enough frequency that the I/Q signals can be pic...
