Thanks for that. I'll give it a go if I ever get the error again.

Re: Unexpected Inconsistency fsck error

OK. I decided to try running fsck on the Pi one more time. I ran fsck on /dev/sda2, the HDD root partition and it actually found and fixed a blocksize error. Pi is now booting again.

Unexpected Inconsistency fsck error

Hi, I have a problem with my Pi B2. I run Raspbian off an external HDD and I had tried to install a Pico UPS HAT back in Feb but it was causing problems like losing my network gateway on reboot (something I don't do often with this Pi so I was willing to live with it). I unplugged the UPS to try and...

Re: Raspberry Pi 2 Model B very frequent corruptions

Thanks for your reply. Just gave the slot a blast from my always-near air can and I'll see what happens when I reflash the SD card and if it dies again I'll get a noobs card, see what happens then. Weirdly I didn't get a notification that you'd replied. Thanks again.

Raspberry Pi 2 Model B very frequent corruptions

Hi, I bought 2 Pi 2 Model Bs on launch day. One is running fine but the other keeps corrupting the SD card after 1-4 reboots. At first I thought it was the SD card but I just flashed a brand new one (a different brand but both are good brands) and as soon as I rebooted after raspi-config it threw up...

Re: Assign pi4j pins from text data?

Converted all the code to use getPinByName vs reflection, much more readable, thanks for doing that :) Now I just need to work on power regulation....

Re: Assign pi4j pins from text data?

Uuuh I just downloaded pi4j 0.0.5 and added the jar files as a library in Netbeans if that's what you mean? I did that because I'm developing on Windows then uploading to the Pi post compile.I can try building on the Pi then copying the jar files over to Windows.

Re: Assign pi4j pins from text data?

OK so I figured it out for anyone who's interested. Say you have an xml document that has a definition like: <pin address="GPIO_04" name="triggerPin" type="digitalinput" resistor="pulldown" /> where name should be the same as the relevant class field e.g. class SomeGPIOInput { public GpioPinDigitalI...

Re: How to play mp3 radio stream from Java !?

I don't know if it'll work how you want but there's Xuggler which is a Java binding/library based on FFMPEG which might get you started?

Assign pi4j pins from text data?

Hi, I'm trying to make a pi4j project with text configurable pins to allow modification to the interface without having to recompile. Is it possible to do this? For example I have a LimitSwitch sensor class with a single GpioPinDigitalInput pin field. I then have an xml file with this data: <pin nam...

HAT design help

Hi, I'm making an add-on board for a project and I thought while I'm at it, as everything fits on a HAT sized board I might as well look into turning it into an actual HAT. Looking at the EEPROM documentation I have a couple of questions about this diagram: https://github.com/raspberrypi/hats/blob/m...

Ah cool, thanks ghans :) Is that a new part of the V2 firmware or did I just not do an rpi-update for ages? Because my old V1 always read 700MHz regardless

OK. Running a continuous loop pushes it up to 900MHz so I assume it is just a power saving mechanism?

B V2 Incorrect CPU speed

Hi, I've moved an existing hard drive setup from a Rev 2 B V1 to a new V2 B. When I first booted it was reading 600MHz. When I ran raspi-config it correctly read 900MHz. When I tried overclocking it again read 600MHz, now the only way I can get a correct reading is to set the preset to the original ...

Motion Stream without Saving JPEGS

Hi all, I'm trying to set up a security camera/storm catcher based on this article http://www.instructables.com/id/Raspberry-Pi-as-low-cost-HD-surveillance-camera/ . It works fine for the most part, I usually have to manually start motion but that's not a huge problem. My main issue is that I really...
