Re: Automating wifi configuration
Use ssh? Connect to a known network (maybe use your mobile phones mobile data to tether) and just install connect bot or something, set up a static ip (search Google on how to do that) and now you have the same ip so connectbot will work. For example, I have 192.168.1.77 so I can just leave it from ...

Hello and welcome to the Troubleshooting section of the pi forums.
Try to issue "sudo raspi-config", then using your arrow keys, navigate to Advanced options (9) and in there navigate to audio and select your source.
Hope that helped

[fix] disable poppup on plugging in external device
Story time: Hello friends, I got adb (and android thing) working on the pi and I was happy to try to use it on my phone to the pi. I started adb and just so I didn't have to type ./adb I moved the adb file to /usr/local/bin. Then, I issued the first command that probably everyone issues to see if th...

Re: Resistor broken RPi3
Well, does the pi work? As in, does it boot? I do not recommend soldiering it back unless you have a sturdy hand a good experience with soldiering. If I was you, I'd take it back to the re seller for either a refund or a new one.

Re: HDMI Display Settings - 800x480
I think you could have uncommented framebuffer and put the screen resolutions there. I used to do it before i got my hdmi to vga. Razerz - tried that - didn't work, part of the 9 failures on the way to success. Hmm, have you set hdmi_drive in /boot/config.txt? Just curious if it is uncommented and ...

Hmm, using vncviewer opengl works but I dont know if it works with minecraft on it. Also any config.txt cionfiguration works aswell and it wont affect resolution.birv2 wrote:Well, that was a mistake. RealVNC Viewer couldn't connect any more to the Pi. Time for the rebuild!

I have a fear that your backup sdcard might be corrupt. If you have an android phone, put the sdcard in there and format it there, then put it in your PC and format it there and redo the SD card copy. If you have any error please post them here

Re: USB does not work at all
Ethernet is working so ssh is the likely method. Or possibly serial. Have you tried to downgrade your pi? I think I have read about this before and the solution was to downgrade, I'm sorry but I don't have a link. What does "downgrade" exactly mean? Install an older version of raspbian.

Have you tried to install raspbian (or whatever distro) directly instead of with noobs? I have been reading the troubleshoot forum for a while and most errors are because of noobs.

Re: Settings and changes persist after re-installing
NO! windows formatter will only find and format the very first (FAT) partition on the card, and ignore all the other (much larger) partitions. That is not what you want! You should remove all partitions, create one partition, and format it as FAT32. Ah yes, OP, if you have an android phone with an ...

If it only happens once, at boot, that is normal. As long as it does not happen at random times, that is unusual. I have seen multiple youtube videos were that happens, infact this (if you forward to 5:30) will show it.

Re: Sound
Open a terminal window and type;
Then look for "hdmi_drive=2" and remove the "#" sign before the line. Once that is done, hit ctrl+x and y and enter. Then type;
And you should be good to go.
Code: Select all
sudo nano /boot/config.txt
Code: Select all
sudo reboot
