Now at 60.5C ambient, 142C CPU and 151.7C PMIC it just rebooted on it's own. Still working fine after the reboot.
151.7C? You're creeping up on the melting point of solder. I'm surprised you haven't had some sort of permanent hardware failure at that temp...

Pi 4 delivering power on HDMI port (is this expected?)

I was just playing around with a 5" HDMI LCD screen connected to the Pi 4 via HDMI, and was surprised to see that the Pi4 was delivering power to the LCD directly from the HDMI port. I was under the impression that only "MHL" hdmi ports delivered power, and the ports on the Pi4 have not been adverti...

Take a look at the following libraries for examples of using DMA to perform accurate high-speed bitbanging:

Re: latest rpi-update 2.5ghz with 4B 4g

Yes, the latest firmware opened up a little more overclock room. I have two boards that can overclock to 2.147GHz stable, and one that won't. I question the part about overclocking the GPU to 750 MHz though. I can set that value in config.txt and the board will boot, but "vcgencmd measure_clock core...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4B - Mouse Cursor lag in 4k

I think by default the HDMI ports drive 4K monitors at only 30Hz, which would definitely seem like cursor lag. I think there is a boot option that you have to set that enables 4K/60Hz...

Have you tried simply erasing the SD card and re-writing the buster image to it and placing it in the RPi4 first?

Re: Setting a static IP address from SD card before boot

Three possible ways. Use a Ubuntu/Debian PC to edit the file. For the sake of completeness, there is actually a 4th way to edit files on the root partition of a Pi SD card, but this method requires $. You can install an extFS driver for Mac that will allow it read and write to Linux ext partitions:...

Re: Battery power / power display in termial

drgeoff is right. You would need an i2c voltmeter to act as the battery monitor, and then you would have to derive a voltage to charge mapping, since there is no way to actually measure the charge level of a battery.

Re: Driving a single WS2811/WS2812 SMD, not a strip

Honestly, if you want these 5V addressable LED's to work reliably and consistently, you're going to have to use a level converter to bump the GPIO output from 3.3V to 5V. It's a pain I know, but every other method is essentially a work around that will work for some LEDs but not for others.

What are the differences between the APEM 104350003 and APEM 8632A switches, besides one being much more expensive than the other? Do they have the same travel/feel? Are the 104350003 switches so much more expensive simply because of their higher reliability rating, or is there something else? Just ...

Sandisk A2 class micro sd card the Pi performance king?

Sandisk has released an A2 application class micro sd card that at least on paper will be the undisputed performance king for the Pi. Only trouble is, it costs as much as 10 Pi 3's and is way overkill for the majority of people. Specs are very impressive: 400GB, A2 application class (4000/2000 minim...

Re: 3B+ PoE pin description / documentation

Not another HAT, but certainly another compatible add-on board. HAT is a spec which an includes EEPROM for identification. Since the EEPROM would be on the same pins and the same address, you can't really stack them and expect things to 'just work'. Ah, yes - thanks for that clarification! I always...

Re: 3B+ PoE pin description / documentation

Judging strictly from the early pre-release photos posted on pishop.us, the 40 pin header section looks like it is set up the same way as the sense hat. On the underside of the POE hat board is a surface mount 40 pin header block that allows pass through of pins, so if you stack a double length head...

It seems PiShop.US is jumping the gun a bit, I don't believe they know they actual price, as the POE HAT isn't actually launched yet. but yes, at least they are not confusing it with an older POE solution for the PI. I wish we could see the back of the board, so we could see how much electronics th...

Re: It you want/need I/O board only

My fear was that the deal might be too good to be true, since the cost through digikey was so much less than through any other vendor. I thought digikey may have made a stocking mistake or something similar and had mislabelled a bunch of older CMIO boards for sale as v3 boards. Glad to see that I ha...
