Re: Raspberry Pi IRC client help

Most IRC bots are done with eggdrop

sudo apt-get install eggdrop

make sure you read the docs well, it won't start until you find all the easter eggs in the settings

good for you... I've set turbo to off and usb to 1.1 and even the testtone patch sounds ring modulated. Strange since it was working fine on my previous install.

@wouterel, unfortunately you seem to be right, I'm getting the same behaviour when I hook it up to my mac.

Re: USB Audio - I hear inputs on the output at all times

Thanks, but I think that is just a GUI for the same thing (alsamixer), the inputs don't show up here either.

I used some tips from http://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/raspberrypi to get smooth audio
forcing USB to 1.1 and disabling turbo mode on the ethernet controller did the trick for me.

USB Audio - I hear inputs on the output at all times

I've recently configured my Pi to work with a cheap Behringer USB soundcard to do some effects in puredata. This works great after limiting USB speed to USB1.0. My problem is that I always hear the input sound at the output and I'd rather be able to control that with a dry/wet knob. I've tried using...

Re: alsa audio-in with Pure Data and USB dongle

After some tinkering I finally have a cheap Behringer USB audio card working with pd on the RPi. Eventually I want to turn this into a a cv controlled effect/synth box. This thread has been very helpful in allowing me to use audio input with pd but I have a problem. Even without running any app I al...

Re: Camera module! (And a picture of JamesH)

Seeing that the port that this camera will hook up to is capable of pushing a lot more data straight into the GPU than would be possible via USB, how feasible would HDMI capture be? I could only dream of a bunch of Raspberries processing each other output and overlaying graphics or applying effects ...

Re: Binaries for XBMC and Quake 3 (with sound!)

Thanks for the effort that went into these! I am having some problems playing videos though, everything I play yields black & white noise instead of a viewable movie. Re: Instructions for building XBMC for Raspbian

Thanks for this, it would be great not to have to change SD cards to run XBMC. I'm using Hexxeh's image of Raspbian (fully updated). One thing that is odd here is that sudo does not work (not found). So I had to change tools/rbp/setup-sdk.sh to remove the odd instance of 'sudo'. I'm root by the way....

reboot: not found

I'm having a strange issue with my Raspbian system.

Commands such as reboot, shutdown aren't found. When I do a rpi-update I can use them again, but after a reboot they are gone. One time even startx wouldnt work. Any ideas are welcome.

That is because the Pi is set to NTSC by default. To set it to PAL, make or edit a config.txt file in the boot partition (the one you can read on your PC or Mac) and add the line

I got freezes whenever network was getting some heavy use. This setting was suggested to me, it makes sure you always leave 8 megabyte of memory free. After applying this setting and rebooting the problems disappeared.
