Sure, I will let you all know the results. Good! But, Currently, still not working. So you did exactly what I wrote in my last post and it didn't work? In what way did it not work? Did you get any error messages? I think the problem is like what happened under same router: The PC can find it by 192...

Re: How to ssh Raspberry Pi usb remotely from other place

I don´t think you´re doing it right... First: The reverse tunnel has to be created by the Pi. So the " ssh -N -R etc etc etc " line must be run on the pi. And yes, you need the -N. Actually there are a few more options that could be useful: /usr/bin/ssh -o ServerAliveInterval=15 -o ServerAliveCount...

Re: How to ssh Raspberry Pi usb remotely from other place

One last thing, just out of curiosity: how are you running the Virtualhere Client? Are you passing it any configuration options? You were right. I might did not made it right. The Pi does ask authentication. At least, when I use Putty to login, I need input username, password of that Pi. And when I...

Re: How to ssh Raspberry Pi usb remotely from other place

The solution to your problem might be to create a reverse ssh tunnel from the pi to your server in such a way that any data sent to your server´s port 7575 is routed to the pi´s port 7575 automatically - no need to do port forwarding on your router or anything like that. By reading your posts it lo...

Re: How to ssh Raspberry Pi usb remotely from other place

Only need is to port forward on router to 5901 if you use THIGHTVNC like myself and thats it. I have NGINX server instaled, port forward on port 5901 and 80 for http connection and that is all i have done. Some routers do not allow connection from out, in this case must to do DMZ (demilitary zone) ...

Re: How to ssh Raspberry Pi usb remotely from other place

If your Pi is on the inside of your router and you are trying to access the Pi from the outside of your router, you have no choice put to find a way to pass the traffic to the device. This is normally done with port forwarding at your router. You could also create a VPN tunnel, however yet again, i...

Re: use SSH properly to remote port forwarding

There seem to be a lot of ssh connections listening on your server now, probably remnants from your earlier attempts. Could you try terminating all of these? To do that: - Enter "sudo killall ssh" on the pi. - Terminate all putty windows on the PC You can verify that by entering "netstat -l -n" aga...

Re: use SSH properly to remote port forwarding

Yes, I followed that. No, you didn't. At least I don't see the output of netstat -l -n on your server anywhere in your posts so there's no way for anybody to know what you did. Also, you changed port numbers around in the commands given to you without knowing what you're doing - this will of course...

Re: use SSH properly to remote port forwarding

Well, if you're confused, it might be worth trying what people suggest on this thread instead of experimenting with somewhat similar commands on your own. So, to quote rayjoh's excellent reply: Verify that port 7575 is unused on server netstat -l -n On pi ssh -R 7575:localhost:7575 [email protected].111....

Verify that port 7575 is unused on server netstat -l -n Ports over 1024 can be used by non-root users. Try first without "-N -f". On pi ssh -R 7575:localhost:7575 [email protected].111.111.111 (localhost is on pi) On PC ssh -L 7575:localhost:7575 [email protected].111.111.111 (localhost is on server) or PC: ss...

Re: use SSH properly to remote port forwarding

Can you reach your "host server" via ssh from both pi and PC? Can your host server ping the pi at 192.68.1.2? Can your host server ping the PC at 192.68.0.55? Do I understand you correctly that you want an USB device that is physically attached to the pi from your PC? And that you achieved this whe...

use SSH properly to remote port forwarding

I have PC(192.168.0.55), host server(100.111.111.111), pi (192.168.1.2 or when in the same router 192.168.0.44) when the pi and the PC under same router, the Virtual Here Share USB over Internet could easily find the shared usb ip: 192.168.0.44:7575, and it works perfect. Now, I made Pi connect with...

I think what you want is an SSH tunnel. As I have done this in the past I will point you to a good article on this. http://www.ytechie.com/2008/05/set-up-a-windows-ssh-tunnel-in-10-minutes-or-less/ Keep In Mind that to do this outside your network will require some port forwarding on your router.
