Re: Setting up HDMI output when video output isn't what you

Just got a PI2 after being out of the game since I sold my model Bs early 2014, and came unstuck with overscan/black borders. I've searched the forums but apologies if this solution has already come up, but here's what I did when hooked up to my iiyama hdmi monitor. I know that I'm displaying at 108...

Re: Poor performance streaming wmv web stream

Hi, I''ve also got the same issue streaming from another pi to raspbmc using samba. 1080p m2ts works great, but even sd wmv has issues though. Xbox 360 streams 1080 wmv fine.

Re: Streaming from NTFS drive on Rasp Pi to xbox

i currently use truehl's fantastic squeezeplug. most if my movies are wmv or avi, and it works flawlessly fir sd ir 720p. I've had buffering issues with done 1080p stuff but I've mitigated thus somewhat by changing from ntfs to ext4 and a slight over clock. the remaining issues are probably my crapp...

Re: Samba Performance

I was getting 2.5 to 3MBs on my ntfs setup using squeezeplug. jusf set squeezeplug 5 up on my other pi with an external drive as ext4 and now i get 7.8 to 10. Chuffed would be an under statement.

Another format thread...

My pi is currently serving video from a 2tb drive to our xbox 360s via upnp, which it does very well. However, when i ripped my DVDs i did it to wmv9 advanced/wma pro. I'm now starting on my blu ray collection and would prefer to use ts or mkv with AC3. Of course the xbox doesn't support them. It su...

Re: squeezeplug for raspberry pi is the business

I concur. Squeezeplug was exactly what I needed. I have my pi headless running Twonky 24/7 with a 2tb hdd serving movies to our xbox 360s.

I chose Twonky as I had issues with the other media servers. They installed fine, but didn't index all my movies. Most likely the way I encoded them I suspect.

Re: Media Server Madness

Zoinks, forgot to put up a how to based on my experiences. Work gets in the way :D Samba sharing might be ok but I've read it's not fast enough for hd content. Also depends on whether the device you use to play the content can access shares. you'll need to set up a dlna or upnp server if you intend ...

Re: Stream off of windows pc

You can set your windows pc as a media server in a number of ways. The simplest is to set up sharing in Windows media player. If you want to transcode and do clever things like get metadata and movie posters from the internet, try Serviio.

Re: SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download

I'm using Squeezeplug on my Pi and can only say it's brilliant. I know almost nothing about Linux but managed to set it up using the Squeezeplug Wiki and a little common sense, and now have twonky and webmin up & running and sharing media files from a 2tb HDD. Thanks!

Re: Media Server Madness

Sorry if the original post wasn't clear: MiniDLNA/Serviio - didn't index all my videos. The missing movies weren't visible on any client (android, PS3, 360 or WMP). I could see that some movies were skipped on the Serviio console LMS - Did index everything, but I couldn't see the server from the 360...

Media Server Madness

I'm a Linux noob so probably missed something fundamental, but here goes: I currently serve media (mostly WMV and DivX/Xvid) to the xbox 360s in our house using Serviio running on an old Via mini itx. I'm trying (with some success) to do the same with my Pi. I'm running SqueezePlug Debian, and succe...
