Block User Logging Out?

I have an issue, that I think may be hard to solve. How can I prevent a user logging out without providing the root password? I have tried myself, but I think it may require something much more advanced. Thanks so much for your help. :D :D

Re: Disable 'startx' Command

Thanks. I have a few problems though. I have the standard user, pi, and I want that to be able to access startx, so I created a new user called test and logged in as that to run the commands. When I login, instead of getting [email protected]~$ i just get $ and when using the commands i get 'test is ...

Disable 'startx' Command

I have a rpi at school, and I need to disable the 'startx' command, so you need the root password to use it. Can anyone help me?

That looks a lot like the free, open source Punnet case (http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewt ... et#p118160). Please be sure that you are not selling freely available stuff.

Re: Free Farnell t-shirt

It was a great bit of free advertising for the companies, considering that their logo was larger than that of the Raspberry Pi! By the way, it appears that people still like them and one just went for over £25 on ebay! Might be keeping mine for a few years. Bugger! I could have financed my Pi. I've...

No HDMI Boot

Tried to set up the pi so that it would work on an old vga computer monitor. I am using a HDMI to VGA cable ( http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GOLD-1-5M-HDMI-MALE-TO-SVGA-VGA-M-CONVERTER-A-V-CABLE-/270549100366?pt=UK_Computing_Sound_Vision_Video_Cables_Adapters&hash=item3efdfba74e ) but it does not pick up...

Re: Tests wanted: Tor, Freenet & I2P

I have got Tor running on a Pi emulator I am working on at the moment. Its seems to run fine, but connecting through it is quite slow. Only reason i'm using an emulator is that I do not have a spare cable to connect it to my internet! (P.S. I am running Debian on the emulator) :( Oops, sorry. That ...

Re: The PlyPi

When you say an LED showing power on - this is a separate LED from the one on the Pi itself? How are you setting that up, if I might be so nosy? You could either drill a hole for the original RPi LED, or you could spilce an normal size LED into the power cable. The tiny voltage taken shouldent affe...

Re: The PlyPi

Amazing looking case! Perhaps you could countersink the bolts and raise the side up a bit on the top, and lower on the bottom so you could make them stackable. Have you had any problem with overheating? I am working on one like this, but out of plastic and with an LED showing power on. I will post a...

Re: Free Order Code

I think that I saw I post on the RS FAQ, about that. They said that they would deactivate any codes being sold, so the person who purchased it will be annoyed. I couldn't find that in RS FAQ (read through it twice). But I would support banning code sales if implemented for codes being sold for pure...

Just booted up my RPi, with Debian installed, as the recommended install for beginners, as my Dad wants to use it, only to find that it does not appear to have a GUI! What install file should I use? :?:

SD Card Install

I am trying to install Fedora Remix onto a 4GB SanDisk Class 6 SD card, but it does not appear to appear on the installer. All I get is a selection HARDDRIVE1(4G). Is that it? Would Debian be any easier to install?

Was your phone connected to the same WiFi as the USB WiFi 'Dongle'? I think this is similar to holding two walki-talkies next to each other.
