Re: OS X 10.4/6

But I am fairly sure you can get the source code for OS X anyway from Apple if you're a developer with them and you have paid your 100 dollars to apple this year for developing OS X and it's software. Um yeah. Apple is totally going to let you see their source code for a hundred bucks. The b...

Re: Internet games Cafe

You could use the Pi's as toaster 'computer' but there would really be no point considering the huge varity of specialy made device. I have been looking into linking up to 10 Pi's to create a SuperPi, but it's not looking great at the moment. Neat good luck with that, sounds like a fun and challeng...

Re: OS X 10.4/6

I probably can't do it myself, I am a coding N00B! However I would like to push people to try and do it because it looks very much possible. http://elinux.org/Rpi_kernel_compilation#OS_X ^ I think this is about porting the Kernel for OS X top R-Pi... Not sure... LOL But I am fairly sure you can get ...

OS X 10.4/6

It should be possible to compile OS X with ARM11 support. And I am wondering if anyone has already started to attempt it or even would like to do it? I know I am interested, I think it would a little milestone in Hackintosh history. And it would make a neat OS for the R-Pi. what do you think? Talk a...

Re: My Lego case

Awesome case mate, I wish I had a Raspberry Pi already. I have been waiting for it for a while in Australia. I'll probably build a case out of Lego for my R-Pi too :D

Oil filled case

Has anyone considered oil cooled cases (for looks)?
Sort of like some of the desktop motherboards in fish tanks full of oil.

Re: Internet games Cafe

I guess you're looking for some kind of "local version" of OnLive? I am just curious, my dream has always been to run an internet games cafe. I am curious if 'toaster' running of a larger machine would be a cheaper option compared to individual gaming rigs. (toaster are small desktop computers that...

Re: Is it possible to run mac os 10.2 on it?

It would probably be possible to make a Hackintosh distro from 10.4 that supports ARM11 (in the model b R-pi), because iOS is 10.4 ported to ARM... I am researching it with a friend and we still think it's possible to compile OS X 10.4 or maybe even 10.6 with ARM11 CPU support, however it would take...

Internet games Cafe

If a bunch of R-Pi's where set up to a larger machine doing all the processing and the R-Pi doing some video rendering could resource intensive games like first person shooters and Massive multi player games work?

Re: Overclocking

Has anyone bothered with cooling attempts? Will it extend lifetime?
Also what exactly happens when the CPU is over volted, how exactly does it degrade it's lifetime?

Re: Patching a Linux or Unix based OS to support ARM11

Thanks cherry and Andrew. Specifically what I am trying to do is retrace Apple footsteps when they ported OS X 10.4 to the Iphone and made iOS (but leave most OS X features). Thus making the cheapest available Hackintosh Distro. I have already gained some help from a hacker friend and we are under w...

felix123 wrote:You can't just patch it. You have to find the source code and then compile it for arm.
So how is that done and how difficult is it?

Patching a Linux or Unix based OS to support ARM11

Say the model b Raspberry Pi is used which has an ARM11 CPU, how hard is it to patch the Kernel of an OS to support ARM11? and where can I find how to? I have looked for Tutorials but can't find any.
Some help would be appreciated.
