Found a solution it turned out that my router was WPA2 only, I was able to connect to my guest network but not the main one, I finally found that setting and once it was changed it started working. I'm going to install noobs and see if that works correctly, I get nothing when I run that command...

I'm not sure this is worth the hassle, if noobs works then I can run it headless and I'll be all set (plus I can make an image for each machine I build)...

I'll let you know what happens...
