Re: Rasclock module rtc-pcf2127 in default build?

I tried to build the module against the current Rasbian kernel, but it failed on building the config.

Re: Streaming movies from an online server

SSH is certainly available on Raspbmc, since I used it to correct a bug in the python of the YT add-in login script.
It's under 'settings' somewhere.

Re: How to get to command line

Since SSH is the only way, is there a way of making the ip static on XBMC?

Re: GPGPU on the R-PI.

Something I'm not following, and I'm possibly being slow here. OpenGL ES is effectively a standard API to embedded GPU The RPi GPU supports OpennGL ES, and OpenCL hooks into the Open GL and Open GL ES. Logically, if you're having to do a thousand man hours patching the port to get it to run, then on...

Oh, and synaptic is geologically slow.

Re: A real AB question: How do I 'run as root'

Looking at the gparted.desktop, it is executed as gksu gparted, synaptic, when you install it is installed with su-to-root -X -c /usr/sbin/synaptic As they stand, neither will accept 'raspberry' as the password. Changing the entry to 'gksudo' on both results in access without root p-word. As a comme...

Re: A real AB question: How do I 'run as root'

Only time I've seen this sort of error is when the menu is using gksu rather than gksudo.
LXDE uses the gnome back end for a lot of stuff, so I assume it's that.

Gparted and synaptic both seem to have this problem.

Re: MonoDevelop C# on RPI (or Visual Studio for Linux)

Done a little playing, and you can get a fair turn of speed if you use IceWM, wmaker or Blackbox as the WM for Monodevelop. My criteria were 1) no menu fiddling. If the WM didn't pick up LXDE .desktop files it was game over 2) Acceptable speed 3) Acceptable stability. NOTE - 2 and 3 are obviously su...

Re: Doom/Doom II/Quake (accelerated)

I'd have to do some back digging, but Doom ran well on the ARM based Little Linux Laptop in 2009, so I'd assume the Pi can handle it.

VI on Arch

Sorry if this is a duplicate post, but searching for Vi hits the board's flood filter.
Is vi broken in the Pi Arch, or do I just have a bad image?
