Re: Original Official Raspberry Pi 2 (not 3!) cases available anywhere?

Exactly - I bought this case *years* ago (when the Pi 2 was originally in-channel) and it was the correct (and only) official case then.

I ordered it again on March 20 and the light pipes are on the right now.

Same situation with PiShop.

No, not exactly, but it is being fully documented. :)

Re: Original Official Raspberry Pi 2 (not 3!) cases available anywhere?

@Moonmarch Understood and very appreciated advice - unfortunately, this specific application pretty much demands the authentic official case with proper light pipes (it also utilizes the official red/white keyboard for similar reasons). Pedantic, perhaps, but this project is very much a labor of lov...

How many are you looking for?
Two, but I'd settle for one if it's all I could get.

Original Official Raspberry Pi 2 (not 3!) cases available anywhere?

Does anyone know where first-run, original official Raspberry Pi 2 (red/white with light pipes on the left) can still be found for sale? You can get the same-looking case for the Pi 3 (with the light pipes on the right) everywhere, but I can't even find the originals on eBay. The few online stores t...

Re: USB boot now working on Pi3

A few (unanswered, I believe) questions, if I may (hi, Gordon! =): - Given that program_usb_boot_timeout (which is incorrectly documented in bootflow.md and host.md as program_usb_timeout, BTW - caused me no end of confusion at first ;) presumably blows an OTP fuse, is it reasonable to assume that m...

Re: pi 3 wifi range

I completely forgot to follow up - in my case, doing nothing but swapping the aftermarket (high-wattage!) power supply with the official RPi one made a _world_ of difference...my transmission (which directly affects reception due to TCP ACK) quality went up quite dramatically, to such a degree that ...

Re: pi 3 wifi range

To my considerable surprise, my RPi 3 went down in an undervolt condition today, on the official CanaKit RPi 3 supply. In the interest of fairness, I've ordered an official RPF supply today and will retest on arrival, in case that had an effect on the tests (I certainly can see how it could!). Rodney

Re: pi 3 wifi range

Eh, I did it quick-and-dirty tonight. The players: - Google TP-Link OnHub router acting as WAP (only 2.4GHz considered) - Raspberry Pi 3 Model B (BCM43438 chipset) as acquired from CanaKit via Amazon in the official Pi Foundation red/white case acting as WAP - Moto X Pure Edition 2015 phone (Qualcom...

Re: pi 3 wifi range

After a very little bit of low-fi testing using the RPi 3 as an AP, I've found something interesting...the signal strength coming _from_ the device can vary by a factor of 30 (!) at a fixed distance less than 6 inches away, from blindly 'loud' to nearly inaudible. I'm going to create a graph of fixe...

Re: pi 3 wifi range

Have you tried positioning the Pi3 differently? If the antenna on the router is vertical, try putting the Pi on edge, so the Pi's antenna is vertical too. The OnHub model I have has 11 antennas, in both vertical and horizontal positions. At this distance, that ain't the problem. :) If the Pi 3 can'...

Re: pi 3 wifi range

I believe the RPi 3's wifi issues come down entirely to transmit. My Pi is roughly 20 feet of open air from a Google OnHub. As a result of the wifi issues, I cabled it to Ethernet, but _did not disable wifi_. I was doing mtr testing from another host on the LAN to both the wired and wifi interfaces ...
