Re: Control multiple relays with only One gpio pin (mcp23017)

How would i use One relay to control the others..

Would i hold 5v in the relay, and then when that relay turns on, the 5v would be sent to the signal pin of the other relays?

Re: Control multiple relays with only One gpio pin (mcp23017)

Thank you. It seems the relays use 5ma to trigger. The rpi gpio can output 16ma so I'm guessing it can only handle 3 relays. The MCP23017 output 20ma I believe so it looks like I may be able to use 4 relays on this. Is it safe to assume that if I try it, and it works, then I am ok, and will not caus...

Control multiple relays with only One gpio pin (mcp23017)

I have four relays hooked up which I want to power on and off all at the same time. They are all powered by external power supplies separate from the Pi/mcp23017. Can I hook the signal pins all up to the same mcp23017 output pin so that when i turn that pin high all the relays turn on? Or do i need ...

Temperature Sensor for -80 Celsius?

I've used the DS18B20 sensor before, but read that the coldest it could handle was 55 celsius.

Does anyone know of a different sensor, compatible with Raspberry Pi, which could handle -80 celsius. Planning to install to a freezer which needs to stays at that temperature.

Thanks

Re: wifi Code for SSD1306 screen

Are you using the Adafruit library? If so, have a look at the image.py example file. I haven't tested this, but It looks like you can comment out like this.. # Load image based on OLED display height. Note that image is converted to 1 bit color. #if disp.height == 64: #image = Image.open('happycat_o...

Re: Set static IP or wifi by Web Interface??

UPDATE:
I found some commands I could use in a python script to change the IP, but the pi seems to keep the old IP (from dhcp) as well.

Code: Select all

os.system("sudo ifconfig eth0 down")
os.system("sudo ifconfig eth0 (Get IP From DB)")
os.system("sudo ifconfig eth0 up")
Any ideas why?
