Re: Weather Station (temp, humidity, dew point, and pressure code)

I regret but I have no experience with the sensors you mentioned. My code is written in python for the DH22 humidity sensor, a BMP80 barometric sensor, and a standard ds18b20 temperature probe

Pinewood Derby IR Sensor issue (continuous run - not sensing)

Good afternoon everyone The code below was originally from the website https://www.14core.com/wiring-tcrt5000-ir-tracking-sensor-with-raspberry-pi/ and modified for 2 TCRT5000 IR sensors. I've tried 3 different sets/pairs of sensors to verify that it's not the sensors at fault. Here is my code and f...

Weather Station (temp, humidity, dew point, and pressure code)

Good evening everyone, Below is the code I finally worked out to get my DIY weather station posting to Weather Underground. Hope this helps someone :) #!/usr/bin/python3 # -*- coding: utf-8 -*- import os import glob import time import requests import Adafruit_DHT import sys import Adafruit_BMP.BMP08...

Re: Simple code to turn on/off relays from buttons on website

Still nothing. I have reflashed the card, downloaded newest copy of apache2, set it for cgi.... I just don't understand. I can go to the terminal window and type in gpio write 1 0 and the first relay will trigger. Is this proprietary information to where nobody can tell how to make this happen? Am I...

Simple code to turn on/off relays from buttons on website

I have been up and down this forum site and it seems there are "many" solutions to this quandary. Of the six attempts I have made, I am still no further in finding a solution. I tried several while using Ubunto Mate (had astronomy software there to run)....nothing Dumped U.M. and came back to Stretc...

For anyone who wants to know, here is the Flask code: Need to name this app.py import RPi.GPIO as GPIO from flask import Flask, render_template, request app = Flask(__name__) GPIO.setmode(GPIO.BCM) GPIO.setwarnings(False) # Create a dictionary called pins to store the pin number, name, and pin state...

I cannot get it to run to save my life. Due to the fact that I have astronomy software on my RPi3b (INDI drivers and such) and my RPi3b is running current Stretch...I'm giving up. I've even tried a tutorial utilizing Flask and it displays weird BUT the buttons work at least. Guess this robotic obser...

I will have to hook up my Pi3b to run the observatory. It is running Stretch along with other astronomy software. Will post my results asap.

Good afternoon everyone, I tried the code provided by neilgl ( https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=91&t=222724 ) and when tested on my Pi2b, the site came up with the OPEN/CLOSE buttons and when clicked, then it brings up my cgi-bin/VDoorsOPEN.py file name in the browser instead of ac...

Re: How to read data using Python/C++/JavaScript/HTML

I'm sorry Doug, I am so frustrated at this point that what you have said might as well been in Russian. I have been searching for files and folders that do not exist all day long. So many, what I think, are "wild goose chases" from either outdated posts or posts that no longer deal with a Pi3. I am ...

ok, I followed line by line what that last post said (https://python-forum.io/Thread-Run-Python-CGI-from-Apache). I'm still not getting any change. Re: How to read data using Python/C++/JavaScript/HTML

I am using Apache2 and I've looked up several of the config files that have been listed in the reading material listed and have found none of them. I have done a fresh reinstall and re-searched and still cannot find them. Does this mean I have to build them?

How to read data using Python/C++/JavaScript/HTML

I have the following code where it begins with Python calling HTML. Then I point the code to the file where I want the current single piece of data to be pulled from (home/pi/blower.py). Then I get into the HTML/JS where 5 gauges will be displayed, the first will be the actual temp variable and then...

To do what? With what topology/architecture? Under what physical constraints? With what computing demands? Ok, trying not to sound or come off brass, but I'm building a greenhouse, as stated in my original post (see the experimental sentence at the end). Now, if I must, this unit will be around 4,8...

Pi3 as master, multiple Pi Zero W's reporting in... ... ...

Ok, here's my dilemma...I need to "wire up" a total of 698 DS18B20 temp sensors, 25 pH probes and boards, 4 CO2 sensors, 672 Hall sensors, 160 photo resistors... I know nothing of the Pi Zero or how it communicates with anything else. I have read that it has the same GPIO setup as the Pi3. Knowing t...

Re: Relay issue - need fresh eyes please

Thanks!! I see where I left out the call for read_temp(). In the original coding, it was placed within the MySQL portion

Code: Select all

while True:
	try:
		pi_temp = read_temp()
		... ... ... database coding
always good to get a fresh set of eyes.

Relay issue - need fresh eyes please

I have a new Pi 3B running Jesse (on purpose) and the following code has a flaw somewhere. The gist is that I want the pi to grab the temp, check to see if it is within parameters. If not, trigger a relay to turn on. Simple. I have a cron job set to trigger every 900 seconds hence the 903 second sle...

Re: Analog Photo Sensor add on

I have run

Code: Select all

i2cdetect -y 1
and the Pi returned all dashes like it wasn't reading anything

I grabbed my multi-tester and began testing. I was receiving 3.6v @ the photo sensor and approx 2.35v @ the AD converter. The digital pin out is reading 3.35v?
