This is just my 2-cents worth and I may be wrong but I remember seeing a VM of the RPi which can be downloaded from element17's website: http://www.element14.com/community/grou ... loadcenter I'm assuming that VM is "virtual machine" and doesn't stand for something else.

Hi bredman thanks for the response. I used "su" as recommended by http://linuxcommand.org/lts0070.php although it said that Ubuntu used "sudo" it didn't say anything about Debain needing it??
