Re: SD Image Creation/Backup/Compression

Assuming you don't want to do this with the card running the system, you could do something like this (not a complete recipe, but not too hard to work out if you are fairly familiar with Linux): Thanks, this is exactly the problem... I've got.. lots of sites listing some of the steps, all of the st...

SD Image Creation/Backup/Compression

I use a lot of PI's which have some very specific software on them that has to be installed and compiled and tweaked.. its not a very scriptable process via BASH or anything else really. What I am after is to create a GOLDEN MASTER IMAGE of the SD card... keep it on my LAN, use etcher to write it to...

Re: KVM Switches Pi's and other

I'm using an Iogear 4-port Miniview. It's an HDMI/USB KVM. Link? The way to handle your monitor with DVI input is to use HDMI cables between the Pis and the KVM and then use your HDMI to DVI cable on the shared output to the monitor. That was/is sort of the plan, but I expect issues with the KVM an...

KVM Switches Pi's and other

This is for KVM **SWITCHES** not the KVM virtualization method.. The main monitor I need to use have VGA and DVI inputs... I use a HDMI to DVI cable right now, and just switch it from Pi to Pi when I need it.. ssh is great for 95% of the time, but there are times I need to work locally with the Pi's...

Re: RasPi won't connec to one server???

OK.. I finally reached a point where there is just no visible solution to this... I took ran a wire to the location for a test. Put a switch in and wire up everything. OK. Everybody connects to the internet, server in question. Reconnect my stream from the one Pi (RasPI B Model 3) connects, works fi...

Re: RasPi won't connec to one server???

Did you checked if there is anything unexpected in your system log files related to that Pi’s network connection? E.g. “/var/log/messages” and “/var/log/syslog “ in Raspbian. I think the log files can be helpful. I recently solved a strange wifi lost connection issue in that way. I'll watch it the ...

Re: RasPi won't connec to one server???

Well after snaking a wired connection to this location to test with. No change. Plug in the box to the wide segment and turn on the new software, and within a minute the Pi on the wireless link segment can no longer connect to the server. Disable that feed or unplug the cable, about a minute or so ...

Re: RasPi won't connec to one server???

The entire LAN was powered OFF, no power to anything. After repeating the issue, I've found the culprit, but makes no sense. ONE SEGMENT uses a TrendNET Wireless bridge. One PI and Desktop use this due to location. The Pi has been streaming a 32K bps stream for years no issues. Now testing out some ...

Maybe some more information about what the server is (software / language etc) you don't really give much to go on. The software for the server is IceCast 2.4.x The client software is DarkIce or EZStream. This is stuff that is fed from rtl_fm SDRs's What do the logs say ?[/qupte] Nothing in the log...

RasPi won't connec to one server???

I have numerous RasPis used as clients to encode stuff to a server. All have been working fine, till today. One, out several, one, and only one refuses to connect to the server now. Every other box on the network can connect to this server just fine I can ping the server in questions via IP or FQDN....

Re: [HOWTO] Decoding pager transmissions with a Pi and rtl-s

Heres a small python script that will give you a "PDW" like output.. its a little nicer to read and you can easily mod the code to do what you need, either by text, capcode, etc, etc. trying to run your code, and I get: $ ./ViewPages.py Traceback (most recent call last): File "./ViewPages.py", line...

Re: Objects and accesing for the NON object oriented program

The mantra is that "everything in Python is an object". The trick is not to worry about it, I don't because variables are not objects! :P :D Objects have nothing to do with programs! :P :D  the method you are calling by "someobject" just returns a string (a type of object). Your query, therefo...

Having a combined stereo line-in and mono jack on the same physical socket would add serious complexity to the circuit not to mention added cost to implement it. The Wolfson is a great little board, definitely adds some quality input to the devices...
