Re: Support for MAX3421E USB host controller

I am working with a heavily modified version of usb proxy, so I can't check right now. but I seem to remember the readdir_r was a warning not an error. The following comments are a bit dated, but I hope they help. There is a fork @ https://github.com/scottellis/USBProxy which replaces readdir_r and ...

Re: Support for MAX3421E USB host controller

That is pin 2 of the pi gio header(+5V) connected to +5V pin on the sparkfun board (the mod I listed feeds this to the input to 3.3V regulator). You are correct pin2 of the MAX3421E is connected to 3.3V. The sparkfun board has a 2.2Kohm resistor on the interrupt. http://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/D...

Re: Support for MAX3421E USB host controller

Another thing I was thinking could be causing the problem. How long are the wires to MOSI, MISO and SCLK. These should be very short (especially SCLK).

Re: Support for MAX3421E USB host controller

Sorry not sure what is going on with your setup. I don't have anything thing set up right now, but i can see a few things you are doing different than my setup 1) I was not using a USB hub 2) I was only using a Full speed usb device (not high speed as your logs indicated above) 3) I was probably usi...

lsof shows nothing for /dev/serial0 or /dev/ttyS0.

I am exiting with ctrl-a the x, so as far as I know I am exiting properly.

Serial port won't open after using minicom

I using the Raspberry Pi Zero W with the serial port. If I run my application before minicom it works fine. mincom works fine. However If I run my application after minicom it hangs when opening the serial port. Any Idea what is going on here? Does it have anything to do with using the mini-uart? mi...

To answer your original question... its been a while, but I believe you can sniff usb using Wireshark or usbmon/tcpdump.

Buster: Can't find /boot partion

I am working on Windows 10 with a headless pi zero W. I downloaded Raspbian Buster Lite and flashed the micro SD card using balenaEtcher. Normally at this point I would create an empty "ssh" file and configure wpa_supplicant.conf in the /boot partition, but windows cannot find the /boot partition. I...

Re: Support for MAX3421E USB host controller

You will also need some hardware, and the above may vary slightly on how/what hardware you use. I used a sparkfun board with a minor power modification (5v is provided from pi rather than lm 1117). Sparkfun Max3421 to pi wiring RX TX 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 INT to Pin 22 (GPIO25) 10 SS to Pin 24 (GPIO 8) 11...

Re: Raspberry Pi Zero: USB sniffing

I have had some limited success sniffing with usbProxy using a pi zero w and a MAX3421E SPI to USB bridge. It kinda works but the operation not the most reliable. you also might want to look at the FaceDancer project(s). You may want to look at hardware other than the pi for this.

Re: gadget USB device not recognized during boot.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt here in that you're not using usbProxy for malicious purposes. No malicious intent here, but given the topic I can see why you might think so. More importantly, how are you getting around its requirement that you have both a host port and a slave port on the d...

Re: gadget USB device not recognized during boot.

Thanks again guys Another option might be to use a gpio circuit that pulls the ID pin low (which puts dwc2 into host mode) and releases it once the gadget is ready. However, that might result in both the PC and the Pi trying to power and probe the USB bus. I've no idea whether that's safe and it's p...

Re: gadget USB device not recognized during boot.

You could try installing rpiboot for and on Windows if you haven't already as that should create a device driver which should make Windows recognise the Boot device. That might get rid of the message. Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately I am not able to change anything on the Windows computer.

Re: USBProxy on PI Zero W

looks like the code did not recognize the gadgetfs device on the raspberry pi. I have not done any serious testing yet, but adding "20980000.usb", to *devices[] in src/Plugins/Hosts/GadgetFS_helpers.c find_gadget_filename() seems to solve the problem.

Has anyone used USBPRoxy on the PI Zero (W). I have been try to use it with a MAX3421E as the host port and the local USB as the device (gadget) port. I have not been having a lot of luck. I has wondering if anyone else had tried this, and if they could give me any tips. I seem to have the MAX3421E ...

Re: simultaneous usb gadget and host

Thanks for the comments thagrol, No, I can't use a network printer, I don't have the option of changing the interface to a network interface. As for addons or chips for arduino... that has some potential. I see there has been some work with the MAX3421E. There is also a linux driver this chip. I hav...
