omxplayerGUI issues

1. Video doesn't set right in the window (see attached screenshot). Doesn't matter what video is playing, or what size i make the window or where i put it on the desktop, the video is always to the left and up from where it should be. Maybe this could be fixed by fine-tuning the --win option for omx...

SMB/Samba support, window

I have a few issues i'm trying to resolve: 1.) SMB/Samba support. With the VLC in the repositories, I could just install the SMB plugin so i could open files directly from an SMB share. Trying to figure out how to compile VLC with SMB support. When i followed the guide in the first post, i added the...

But why don't the raspbian repositories have a pre-compiled version of vlc that supports the hardware?

VLC frame dropping

i can play a video fine with omxplayer--it uses the GPU and plays fine. I would like to use VLC, but when i try to play same video, it doesn't use the GPU and the CPU spikes to 100%. So the video doesn't play well. In the log are many messages about "dropping frame (computer too slow)". i have the V...

Re: Pi 3 Networking Problems

i have the model 3... what i had to do was edit /etc/resolvconf.conf and set "name_servers=192.168.1.1" (my router) then i had to edit /etc/network/interfaces and change the eth0 setup to:

Code: Select all

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
seems to be working consistently now

Re: can't play video or multimedia files

thanks... with mediainfo it let me know the file was only 190 bytes. seems it didn't get copied correctly or something! after copying the file again, omxplayer can play the video pretty good.. doesn't display the subtitles for some reason, though. vlc can't really play the file, i guess it doesn't k...

Re: Pi 3 Networking Problems

Bluetooth connectivity during and after installation

Just got a version 3 model B which has bluetooth connectivity. I wanted to use a bluetooth keyboard/mouse that i already have. It has it's own USB bluetooth adapter with pairing button, so i used that too for getting the Pi setup. I used noobs to install Raspbian and my bluetooth keyboard/mouse work...
