Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

Well my Edimax EW-7811Un arrived from amazon today. All was going well until the rpi-updater wanted to update the firmware. It did say it would take a few minutes, which it did, but then an error occured. However it continued and after the reboot wlan0 is no longer being seen? lsusb still detects t...

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

Hi Rahduke, My adapter is a Micronet Wireless LAN USB Adapter Model No: SP907NS . Really tiny but works very well. It gives an identical output to your's using "lsusb". I have both N and G wireless access points and it connects to both OK most of the time. It has proved a little difficult at times ...

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

I've had problems getting to the terminal as well, I've found using ye olde' RCA video allows me to drop into CLI by "exiting" xbmc. Another easy solution was to use SSH (putty) to tunnel in. I'm really not sure installing KDE/GNOME or network-manager is the solution. P.S. Sam the big cheese over at...

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

I can confirm that this script does not work with RASPBMC, i've tried it with 2 different adapters with the RTL8188CUS chipset. It seems that Raspbmc is missing all the components necessary for wifi. I'm no expert though, if Mr. Engman can look into it I'm sure he could tell us what the deal is

Re: RaspBMC Question

Just to let you know RASPBMC in its current beta state as of 5/25/12 does not work with the NetgearWG111v2, nor does it work with any realtek wifi dongles, I've tried 3. Not sure it even supports wifi yet....
