Re: Who is using a 7 inch screen?

Yes.... I use it almost every day. It works fine and doesn't bother your eyes. Keep in mind I work with a pair of 22" dell screens most days for the whole day. So... for me to say the 7" Pi screen is fine... I have experience with it. I would highly recommend one.

As fruitoftheloom pointed out with that link. The mouse isn't bluetooth. It's just a simple wireless mouse using a usb port.

Re: Welcoming to new members

Just saw this... good post. I went through absolute "h""e"-double hockey sticks when I first came on here. But ya just got to have thick skin, and the biggest mistake is giving it back. That just fuels the fire. Over time I found myself thinking before I post something. There's a couple of bad apple...

Re: Smarti Pi Touch

IMG_0384.jpg Ok... found my first eh, when it comes to the case. I still like it, but found what I think is a flaw. I had a custom board developed in which my Pi can mount directly to it. So, I could get a longer ribbon and remove the Pi from the display. My new board even has power connections for...

Re: A case worthy of a $5 computer!

How many times have you seen such and such logo is the trademark of such and such? I know Raspberry Pi doesn't own the Raspberry... but, regardless if it's legal or not, karma is good too. If you follow through with making them... which I think you should. Don't name it Raspberry blah, blah, blah. I...

Re: A case worthy of a $5 computer!

Like I said... I'm not a lawyer, and obviously you should follow the law. If were the Pi Foundation.. I'd endorse it. If they don't want to... you could put something else cool on the cover. It still does the job it is intended to do, and looks great.

Re: A case worthy of a $5 computer!

I think $35 a piece would be the minimum I'd sell them for. You can anodize the aluminum in different colors to appeal to more people. Regarding the logo... just my two cents (not a lawyer). I think having a disclaimer acid etched inside the case saying the raspberry pi logo and or product is a trad...

Re: Smarti Pi Touch

@MysticWhiteDragon Hey... what happens in Japan, stays in Japan ;) I bought one originally just to support the guy for his efforts. I have ended up liking it quite a bit. I'm using it doing some Tkinter and Python stuff while waiting for a custom motor controller board to show up. I don't know what ...

@ MysticWhiteDragon

I heard you can buy used women's panties from vending machines in Japan. Is that true, and if yes, are you broke now? :o

To keep this SmartiPi Touch related.... I bet you can use a Pi and display to run those vending machines!!! :D

Re: Smarti Pi Touch

Hey, stop "carping" about small issues. lol Personally, I don't mind it's not centered so much. But I guess if it had the same lego design on the other side that would be ok. But it would end up being even bigger than it is now. Not sure how many people would want something that big. Let's face it.....

I'll be using it the next few days and think it will work great for my application. Definitely worth the $. You also seem to have an advertising agreement with SmartiPi Touch :D Touche` I like it overall, but the more I look at it, not sure if I can use it in my product. I have a custom SlushEngine...

Re: Smarti Pi Touch

So I finally got around to putting this thing together. Much to my dismay... because I had to disconnect the Pi from the screen, the plastic holder on the screen connector broke as I was removing the flex cable. Wonderful... 2 hours to get the cable to stay in the connector without the plastic snap ...

Re: Smarti Pi Touch

The case is very modular. It is easy to attach it to the wall or on top of some other electronics. You can also mount the Pi completely on the outside for access to HDMI and SD card. For HAT cards the Pi is inside the case and the HAT outside. I cannot really think about anything I would like to ch...

"Using it to drive stepper motors" - Does your Pi have a touchscreen? Yes. Official 7" Pi screen - Does it have a wireless keyboard? Nope - Is it headless? Yes... sort of. I'm using a SlushEngine custom board that the Pi mounts onto. - Custom case (Lego), 3D printed case, store bought case? Have a S...

Re: Smarti Pi Touch

Yes... the guy did a really good job with this case. I'm a product designer... and I guess tend to pick things apart more than most people. I do think you should be able to assemble the thing with the Pi already attached. We call that a design flaw in my business. But, don't get me wrong... I didn't...

Smarti Pi Touch

I ordered a Smarti Pi Touch just to support the guy for his initiative. I have a new display that I already mounted a Pi 3 to. The first thing I find is you can't mount it in the Smarti PI Touch with the Pi already attached to the display. Not the best of designs in my opinion. The other thing to no...

Re: KickStarter failures and successes

Yup, have seen that. I can see a market for a small laptop setup. That makes a bit more sense to me since there's a zillion pi's out there. I think the Pi opened up a huge after market for all sorts of stuff. I'm using the Pi 3 for a commercial product I'm working on. I like the simplicity and size ...

Re: KickStarter failures and successes

I personally really like the SmartiPi Touch. From a product design standpoint... it was done great. I guess I just don't see a really large market for it though. And I hope I'm wrong by the way. I want to see it do well. I will find a few examples. I was looking the other day and found a bunch of fu...
