Re: Poor Man's Pi Safe Backup Supply (UPS)

The device in the diagram does exactly what it is intended for: shutdown delay if the 12V power supply fails and the signal that the main power supply has failed. And something that is not a problem in this case, in the second picture, the 18650 battery has a declared capacity of 5.3 Ah, which is vo...

Re: 4,7 Volt or 5,8 Volt for Raspberry supply

5.8 V and a silicon diode in series eg 1N5404 or similar at least 3 A
But it is playing with fire, because the voltage will be very unstable.

It would be much better to post schematics here, maybe a small correction will give 5 V.

Sadly as of yesterday the thought police within Netflix seemed to have blocked ventz's DRM'd version of chromium.
This is a crying shame as it initially worked flawlessly for me.
Kudos to the RPi foundation though for such a capable device.

Tried it right now and it works flawlessly!

Re: 18650-based Raspberry Pi battery packs

I use a similar powerbank. The problem is not in the device itself but mostly in the type of batteries that are put inside. There are many fakes on the market with overestimated capacity. The only 18650s I highly recommend are the 3.2Ah Panasonic NCR 18650. Two of these in parallel give> 6 Ah and a ...

Re: Solar Power with phone charger

The Amazon page does not give dimensions but based on the photos the solar panel of 20 cells is about the size of a flagship smartphone. One of the photos also claims 17% solar conversion rate. The solar cell surface area of the smartphone is approximately 2 W in bright sunlight between 11 am and 3...

Presented solar cells give about 2 W at bright sunlight. If are covered with plastic, efficiency drops a lot. Boost-up converter could not have efficiency more than 80 % in this configuration, also TP4056 battery management, Energy efficieny of charge/discharge lithium ion batteries such as 18650 is...

Re: Mounting Hard drives

UUID is created when the partition is formatted.

If this is not the case, try fresh reboot of RPi, then connect the HDD and post here output from command:

Code: Select all

dmesg -T
also useful:

Code: Select all

ls -la /dev/disk/by-uuid

Re: Conncection issues while using xrdp

One practical question: why are you using per-to-peer xrdp ?
Isn't VNC more convenient ? If both networks are in same subnet, you would not have troubles with ip routing?
I'm glad that you solve the problem; I never had similar issue at RPi, if one network fails, Internet apears at second..

You have both IP addresses, wired and wireless; probably you do not have DNS defined, so try to check with:

cat /etc/resolv.conf
systemd-resolve --status
