Re: How to properly overclock?

http://elinux.org/RPi_config.txt#Overclocking_options You simply make a text document named config.txt, place it in /boot with the settings you want and off you go. Most Pi's seem to easily do 800mhz, mine personally can get to 930mhz stable without any overvolting (which voids warranty btw). Then g...

Re: Where is the source so I can compile my own?

I am looking for the source for the deb squeeze, namely for the start elf files. I want to manually change the RAM allocation to something like 254/2 MB Thanks! For the GPU allocation, it is not going to happen as stated multiple times on this forum, 32MB is the bare minimum the Broadcom chip will ...

This sounds like an issue that happens when your keyboard is not getting enough power. http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Troubleshooting# ... ey_presses

Also, the MS Wireless Keyboard 800 is shown to show issues as well.

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

Well, now I'm randomly having issues. Using the script and even manually installing the driver/firmware, after recently having to wipe my SD from corruption, my adapter refuses to work, let alone even show up, except for under lsusb. I've been using a Patriot Memory PCUSBW1150, which is under suppor...

Re: Automatic setup for RTL8188CUS based wifi adapters

Hi, I,m not sure how you got the kernel versions above, but if I use /opt/vc/bin/vcgencmd version I get version 319515 (released) Do we need a newer driver, as your 20120611 one above doesn't appear to work ? I have only run your 20120611 script once, so I know there isn't any duplicate entries. Te...

Well this has been rather "unfun" for myself. I personally have kernel errors quite constantly. Doing a simple nano of an install script, not even booted into GUI.
Hopefully ya'll can read this.

Re: Overclocking

I tried: arm_freq=850 gpu_freq=350 sdram_freq=500 no overclock Ran fine in debian, LXDE no problems. Ran Quake3 and crashed out into command line. Went to red power LED only. Rebooted fine. Wonder which one was the more likely culprit? SDRAM? I'm going with the GPU. Mine does the same thing at 350....

Re: Help test the next Debian image (wheezy)

This looks very encouraging! When I wrote this to a Sandisk extreme 16GB SD card (which is what I have "most spare of") Linux booted nicely. The previous version had not booted at all and the squeeze image had started to boot but moaned and shown timeout messages a lot - so this feels a lot better....

I've logged in and am at the graphical interface by using startx. My USB Wireless Network Adapter is connected. I am new too. Never mind I've just found out that you cannot install the KDE software, nor the Gnome, so I'm researching other options.
