Re: Other media center than XBMC

You'll need an X-session........When you close the browser, X-session is terminated. One last question (honest);) I suppose it would be asking too much to run this remotely? I rarely (never) run an X session on the HDMI/console. I always access remotely.. from a netbook or Nokia N900. Would like to...

Are you saying that you use "Minimal Kiosk Browser" to access omxplayer? If so, does it allow omxplayer to use playlists? Yes, but only m3u for now (not pls). In the forthcoming version 1.1 there are some more option which will also allow to play m3u files containing only audio in a separate proces...

Just answered my own question.
cat /proc/sys/vm/swappiness = 60 on Ubuntu
cat /proc/sys/vm/swappiness = 1 on Rasbian.

Thanks.

swap usage - never seen

Hello, I have been using raspi's since they became available. My machines have quite heavy usage, running multiple MPD's and tvheadend, apache2, playlist compiler scripts etc. In spite of this quite heavy demand, I have yet to see any usage of swap, either with 'free':- [email protected]:/etc$ s...

Had a look around, can't find anything (other than a python based web interface). I run a headless media centre, using mpd and tvheadend and omxplayer. I send commands to mpd and tvheadend remotely very easily. I want to do the same with a running omxplayer. The way I start omxplayer is typically:- ...
