Thanks. a) This was the only post I could find that fitted the situation b) I have no idea what Raspbian stretch image is c) I cannot log on/into the Pi and Putty will not connect. d) After this you lost me completely. e) Perhaps I had better leave it for another year and it may get better…ha-ha Ahh...

Hi Guys

I am having the same problem. I have not touched the pi for a year or so (pi3) and wanted to attach a media player and hence wanted to up date the OS before doing anything.

I tied the instructions...but not working

Help...novice user, so please be kind and explicit.

Thank you for the insight. So that is why there is so little about it....

Any links to an idiot proof way of implementing a NAS on a Pi3....I have been trying for weeks without any success...so many instructions assume too much prior knowledge - that I have none...

Guys I pushed recovery and I am back at the install OS???? Is there a resoruce that goes from installing samba to mounting/unmounting HDD.....I think that is the hardest part. Time and date will never work unless you have an active internet connection. The RPi gets the clock set from the network time servers (NTP) at debian.pool.ntp.org. To alter the clock manually you need to be root. Open an LXTerminal and enter sudo date --set '2016-04-03 08:07' Hi Dougie Thank you......
