you will also need to get adafruits retro-game code (lets button input from gpio) from their website

basically you will need a 2.8 inch tft screen
breadboard
tact switches
adafruit power boost
a lipo battery 2500 mAphs fits nicely inside
a drill to make x&y buttons (behind L&R triggers optional)

i meant pcb button i dont know if i will have to configure the gpio pins to keyboard keys
(ex gpio15 = w)
or would retropie detect that i am pushing a button through the gpio pin

You can transfer games from the pi to a computer over wifi with a program so i would assume you could get the saves this way.

you could try to order a generic tft from ebay/amazon and install the adafruit kernel to it and that should work maybe?
if that doesnt work you could install the manufactures kernal

I'm doing a similar project and have had trouble getting all of the parts to actually fit and I'm using a pi zero. Course i am using the GBA pcb for my button inputs so you might save a little room by using a bread board. i would also recommend just using a 2500 mah battery instead of the 2000 mah b...
