Thank you very much. I've installed rpi-update, and now i have laest kernel.

I'm new to raspberry pi and linux world. What kind of advantages do i have, installing latest kernel? bug fixes? improved speeed? Stability?

Sorry for noob quesions, but in faq i didn't find useful informations

i've tried to use apt-get update, and apt-get upgrade.

These commands updates some packages.

I reboot, but still i have kernel 3.1.9 if i use "uname -a". How can i update kernel to version 3.2.x?
apt-get update and upgrade is not sufficent?

I've a simple question. I've red that raspberry PI can decode h264 video using its GPU. But if i have an AVI (with for example divx @ 640x480), can Raspberry decode it? Or there isn't sufficent CPU power? I won't dive into the technical details of DivX (or Xvid ) vs. MPEG4 vs. H.264 as that's cover...

I've read this (entire) post, but i haven't undestood what is armhf. Is this a special set of instructions needed by compilers with FPU support?
