Re: Can Raspberry Pi record 4k video stream from the ip came

depending on the bitrate/quality of the stream you may be able to get away with it but it is doubtful, then you would need to worry about storage as well. I build custom CCTV systems and you would need to find a way to record the RTSP stream using a linux based VMS software. A lot of cameras have SD...

CarPi: power direct to battery or inverter?

I am looking to build a mount touch screen media center for my Pi but i have been thinking about the power setup where should i have a direct line from the car battery through the firewall directly into the Pi or a direct line into a car inverter and then into the Pi then of course should i add the ...

i was thinking about doing this to the pi for shits and giggles, little overkill but could be done if the pi has got some load on it.

can't find a good case for a car mount to save my life

been searching off and on for a few weeks now to get a case stand for 7" touch screen to mount to the dash of my car. Any good screen is either out of stock for months or on a kick starter that won't start production for 6-12 months or does not have feet to mount to the dash. i am still looking but ...

Re: Smallest USB Battery Pack

lol wire up a dewalt drill battery to a board to control the power flow and then have it in a fanny pack with a cord attached to the Pi in a commercial environment i would just go get a RF scanner, after the time and effort developing the tool you could of just bought one that even has warranty. Re: Mystery Raspberry Pi? Can you guess?

Seems a bit strange to go to the trouble of rigging a Pi with software, wireless, camera etc if all you want to do is spy. There are cheap off the shelf devices that can do that job with little fuss, some of which you might never find. Doing things with a Pi, for me, is all about the interest of do...

when it comes to hard drives i would rather let it do what it is designed to do

the $20 difference in electricity is not worth replacing and re-configuring everything every year or so

Re: help me build parts list for first project plz

i would of gone with a php control so it can be managed anywhere in the house and scripts to activate the function. but then you will have sign in and out issues as what if they play for only 30 minutes, how will you balance the credits?

nothing better then a locked draw and an egg timer still

Re: Mystery Raspberry Pi? Can you guess?

If you want to let someone check that SD card, be sure to find someone you trust. Here in China, there is a famous actor, ruined his career because of privacy photos leaked to Internet, when he tried to get his laptop being repaired. I will agree with that too, find someone within the circle or who...

if you need a static IP let the router do it, as the router assigned the IP addresses. you will never have an issue if you work with the right tools

that looks like a spy device to me, can't see any other reason. Only way to find out is to get in there and find what software is running and what it has been doing.

take the SD card as evidence, i good computer nerd can find whats in there.

i don't see why you can't just take the controllers but i would not want to tamper with the power too much, 1 wrong move and you have a paper weight. if i was to attack this i would run the control board through the HDMI and control the in and out through the board. even if you did manage to control...

so far this is some good information, if i clone the SD card and keep one as spare if something goes wrong we can just swap it out and keep going but the hardware and OS should be stable if now screwed with.
