Re: Raspberry Pi 4B with 7 inch touchscreen (RPI display v1.1)

Does it show nothing also not at start up (like the rpi logo in text form). I found out if i had the full opengl driver enabled that my screen would remain black as soon as X got started but i did see some logo / blinking cursor at start up. You could put the card in another rpi and run sudo rasp-co...

Raspberry pi 2 + touchscreen + buster + enabling Full fake KMS opengl driver -> blackscreen

Hey, I only noticed this today, when i enable full / fake kms opengl display driver via raspi-config the official touchscreen screen remains black when entering X. It does display info at boot up but as soon as X starts it remains black. The desktop does start as i can connect using VNC but no matte...

Re: My Znax game working on raspberry pi

touch screen problems with letterboxing are fixed. I just tried it on the official raspberry pi touchscreen. When the game starts and starting from the Main menu or anywhere else in the game press the F key to toggle fullscreen then everything is visible and you can use the touchscreen to play :) Yo...

Re: Anyone using SDL2 with official raspberry pi touchscreen ?

ok i managed to fix it. For some reason if the rendertarget in SDL is not the screen i was getting other values. Setting the rendertarget to the screen with using `SDL_SetRenderTarget(Renderer, NULL)` before calling pollevent or just making sure the render target was my screen before calling it fixe...

My Znax game working on raspberry pi

Hello, I converted an old game i created as a teenager from SDL1 to SDL2 and made it so it works on the raspberry pi in raspbian. My code will probably be bad as i'm no c/c++ developper in normal work life but actually a windows delphi developper so all of these things were very new to me and a lot ...

Anyone using SDL2 with official raspberry pi touchscreen ?

Hi, I'm creating a little game to be used on the raspberry pi using mouse and keyboard, but i also own an official raspberry pi touchscreen and noticed when using the touchscreen that sdl did not generate mousebutton down events. instead it seems i need to use SDL_TouchFingerEvent for it to work. I ...

Ah yeah, but still it seems that driver is pretty fast in software mode with it's overlay.

btw audetto you could consider running fullscreen and see if you get more fps there is flag for the creation of the window to set it fullscreen

Re: Fast(er) image rendering to screen on a Pi3

i made a video of the behaviour i'm seeing both in windows as on the pi with legacy mode driver enabled / opengl driver disabled and where i'm getting a big amount of fps with my game. I don't understand the behaviour with the legacy driver in software mode being faster (fps wise) compared to accele...

SFXR + other great tools to create little audio fragments to use in your games

Hey, It's about 10 years ago since i last created games for linuxhandheld devices at that time i was using a little tool called sfxr. Re: esUtil for OpenGL ES fullscreen using DRM/KMS

how hard would it be to add KMS / DRM support to SFML-PI from attract mode repo ? I think that's basically all that's needed to get attract mode running outside X. But i'm a windows delphi developper and no C / C++ developper. I have tried hacking up some code but i seem to get nowhere. From what i ...

Re: Uae4arm: Amiga emulator with JIT and DispmanX

i know this isn't joypad related but i had problems as well with just using a keyboard (encoder from my picade) the problem with controls is that when you use dpad as mouse or dpad as joystick for example it has some hardcoded keys linked to them (that's how it was programmed for the pandora). I had...

Re: RPi 3 SoC at nearly 100 °C, reporting 80 °C

When i do make -j4 for building ffmpeg from ppsspp emulator on retropie system image it goes to 85°C and throttles back although not immediatly to 600mhz it stays around 700mhz but temprature is between 80 and 85°C while throttling. 1150mhz or 700mhz throttling is a huge diffrence imo. Also the RPI3...

Re: screen quality not so great in retro pie emulators

look it up for you on my system. you can access the config's using a samba share \\ipofyourpi then goto config\all directory and open / edit retroarch.cfg the setting your looking for is "video_smooth = true" change it to "video_smooth = false" then test the emulators again. you can also edit this f...

Re: screen quality not so great in retro pie emulators

i think you have to look in the settings (config directory) in possibly retroarch.cfg, by default on retropie uses a smoothing filter (in the settings of retroarch) so all emulators using retroarch / libretro got that blur effect. I think your tralking about this http://blog.petrockblock.com/forums/...

Re: Pi3 incorrect results under load (possibly heat related)

i actually don't like reaching the cpu throttling temprature (80-85°C) in *normal* use but to be fair i only reached it using the ppsspp emulator from retropie while running a 3d game for some time and while building from sources using make -j4 on the pi itselve (when (re)building ppsspp). it did no...
