Re: Very Large Music Library -- Very Slow Search -- Bottleneck?

You can use Minimserver with Volumio. Minimserver is very fast, plus it has more features than other servers I have tried. I have a large music library too, around 25 400 "songs", or 2200 albums. Minimserver updates very quickly when I add new stuff.

Re: Digital Signage on RaspPi3

At work we currently use Yodeck (yodeck.com), which is a very good alternative. It has plenty of features and runs very smoothly. Plus we got two players (Raspberry pi 3) included in the price.

Re: BeePI - 350MHz, 68040 ATARI ST

I have tried it too, and I am quite impressed. My original Atari ST doesn't have network either, so I don't miss that. And I have only tried MIDI programs in Hatari. MIDI works better than in Hatari run in Raspbian. Hatari runs a lot faster here, and is compatible with more MIDI programs. So I will ...

Re: RPi and real-time, low-latency audio

I was wondering if this page http://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/raspberrypi is still up to date. I have tried to follow the instructions line by line, but get some errors. On the latest Jessie Qjackctl is installed by default, so I guess that it is not necessary to install it again. But whether it work...

Re: New Complete Web-Based SqueezePlug Version Available

My search for the perfect music/mediaplayer is over. Four players and three servers in one is fantastic, and then other extras on top of it. Plus it's very easy to install and control. The only thing that wasn't quite "out of the box" is that my remote for Kodi couldn't connect - I had to connect a ...

Re: Pi die

I have tried another power supply that works on the neighbour Banana Pi, a new SD card, old SD cards, examined if the SD card connection has been damaged, the network connection. The Pi is dead. I am going to buy another one now.

No, it is not bent, and not the connectors either. And it wouldn't bend itself when it was inserted. I tried several SD cards, old and new.

Pi died?

Yesterday, when I came back from work, my Pi was dead. Only the red light is on. If I try to restart it, the green light will flicker for only a short while, and there is no reaction on the other two lights. I have experienced that an SD card has become corrupted before. But I tried several of them ...

Re: Hacking or self-destruction?

Yes, it is on the internet, Pi user is not disabled, and I use a password to log in. I will still be on the Internet, but I will change my passwords. Anything else I should do? And is hacking the only possible cause of this?

Hacking or self-destruction?

I have twice experienced a disastrous behaviour on my Pi: My Samba share had all the files wiped out. It was around 600 GB of music files. The rest of the files on the hard disc was intact, this affected only the music folder, which I had set up as a Samba share on my Pi. The hard disc itself is att...

Re: Music players for Raspberry Pi

XBian does pretty much the same as Rasbmc and Openelec, I can't see any difference. I am not sure if these players can handle 5.1 24/96 playback on the Pi. I have only tried AC3 and DTS files with 16/48, and S/PDIF passthrough (split from the HDMI signal). The receiver does the decoding. I haven't f...

Re: Music players for Raspberry Pi

Personally I don't have speed problems with any of these solutions, except it takes a while for the first library scan. Some control points are also noticeably slower than others when scrolling through the library, plus it takes a while to sync after a library update on some of them. The fastest sol...

Music players for Raspberry Pi

The main reason why I bought the Raspberry Pi was to use it as a music or media player. My hardware setup is: Raspberry Pi model B, 256 MB, wired connection, HDMI goes to a device that splits the signal to VGA and optical S/PDIF audio. The VGA signal goes to a projector, and the S/PDIF goes to my re...

I have the same issue. I reinstalled an image of an older version of Squeezeplug (6), which works perfectly. But I will try uninstalling Squeezelite from the Squeezeplug 7 card also.

Yes, I can. I have to set up my plugins from there, and it looks OK. With v. 7.7.3 I can see my player again, which I couldn't with v 7.8. But still no plugins on Squeeze Commander.

Squeeze Commander will log in automatically to mysqueezebox.com.

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

That may be the reason for the problem with your plugins. Maybe they don't run under the 7.8 version of LMS. Which version of LMS did you run on version 6? Maybe you try it with the stable 7.7.3 version. You can install this version also from the LMS installation menu! Please tell me how it's worki...

Re: SqueezePlug Version 7 available

What are the benefits of upgrading to version 7? For me version 6 has worked perfectly. The only problem I have had is that the SD card has become corrupted a couple of times. But that probably has nothing to do with the program itself. I have used it with Squeeze Commander on my Android phone, and ...

You will find Squeezeplug and a tutorial on how to set it up on http://squeezeplug.de/. Just follow that tutorial, and choose Squeezelite as your player. It is quite straight forward. You will find Squeeze Commander on the Android Market. You set up your library through a web browser with the addres...

It seems like those images has been removed now. I downloaded them again just a few weeks ago, to have them in case of SD card corruption. The build is dated June 23. I installed a newer version of OpenElec and "downgraded" to June 23 afterwards. But there is now one new problem with this setup: If ...

Re: STAROS - Atari ST (GEM+TOS)

Would it be difficult to port xSteem? I used Steem for PC, and it worked perfectly with MIDI. It would be great to run Atari ST MIDI programs on the Raspberry Pi. I have tons of them.
