Re: Line6 drivers - Architecture question

A few years later, and I may, thanks to lockdown, have some more time to play with the notion of sound production on Pi model B, which could be any of the 2/3/4 generation, all of which I have used for in-the-box mixing/mastering (using Ardour, of course!) though not recording, or (due to lack of an...

Re: Broken package in raspbian

That is interesting. Raspbian is 32 bit, and it is missing an aarch64 gcc package, it does not make since that a 64 bit package would be required for anything on a 32 bit os. Raspbian is indeed 32 bit, but it should be able to cross-compile/cross assemble for other platforms. The package is in the ...

Re: Broken package in raspbian

Raspbian Jessie or stretch ? Though a full update of the OS should be first step: sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade sudo reboot As my original post stated. Current up to date stretch (at date of this post): It's not a newbie error. Tried tagging it in aptitude to verify the problem? I t...

package management broken

After an update/upgrade, noticed certain daemons not working. Investigated past the obstacle that is systemctl<spit> to find that (for example) transmission-daemon wasn't ship-shape. So, purge and reinstall. Still not working. aptitide whining that dpkg could not find the pi:pi user:group. That has ...

Re: Line6 drivers - Architecture question

I did, after much paper-trail chasing and farting about, get a 3.16 or 3.18 kernel with decent support for many Line6 devices (inc Pod XTLive, UX2, KB37 and /almost/ UX8, which was pushing the Pi2's USB bandwidth, perhaps too far..) and a few other similar things, and an open source effects system w...

Re: Trying to Access PICkit2 from Raspberry Pi.

I've been using the Pi to do PIC dev using a PicKit2 (Specifically the Sure Electronics (China) built one, ISTR about a tenner, on ebay, and seems to be constructed at the very least as well as the Microchip built PicKit2, and prettier, if pretty PCBs are you thing) since a few days after my first p...

vc4-kms-v3d+icedove=Doh!!!

A fun one: Here I am, doing a bit of early morning fragging some poor unsuspecting beardless yoofs on OpenArena (Pi3, fully up to date Jessie, vc4-kms-v3d overlay loaded etc.) All good. neverput good, neverball good, oolite good, and.. well far too many things good, for summat that is supposed to be...

Re: Raspberry Pi Servers

"So recently, I have been looking at buying a raspberry pi for some small, small server hosting. I was thinking of hosting a small email and web server with two of these. I am wondering if these small computers will be able to host a small server well." Short answer: If it's set up properly, that's ...
