Re: Raspberry Pi 'community'

Rive had received warnings which he didn't respond to for some other stuff - which you won't have seen, of course. And his responses to EihmGhey (I may be misspelling that), which I am hoping most of you did not see, because I deleted them, were appalling. They were incredibly offensive to other pe...

Re: Bug in 4.4 "sd card copier' app

I wasn't aware that the SD Card Copier was available in any other version of Raspbian other than the 4.4[.9 and .10], Linux version. Please enlighten me to my error and post what other Linux kernel versions it is also available in. It is just a program / package in the Raspbian Jessie (the Pi versi...

Re: Bug in 4.4 "sd card copier' app

What 'sd card copier app' on what system using which OS? On Raspbian Jessie 8 linux 4.4.9 via Menu/Accessories/SD Card Copier  That's what I suspected, but your post was a bit low on information, especially since the copier has nothing to do with the kernel / firmware... Oh? I wasn't aware t...

Regardless, the fact of the matter is the copy failed due to "write protection", and the app still gave a "completed" message, when the copy did not successfully complete.

Bug in 4.4 "sd card copier' app

I accidently put my micro sdcard in the SDXC/SD/SDHC adapter (that was tab locked for write i.e., "Write protected"), and attempted to copy from sdcard internal device to the USB card reader/writer micro sdcard. 10 seconds or so later, I was surprised to see that it had 'Copy Completed", when the pr...

Re: Antivirus Firewall ?

So, RiscOS goees with the "Security by Obscurity" virus and malware protection idea, huh? Awesome. Just because there are only a handful of known existing viruses/malware for the platform doesn't mean that you are safe, that your data/info is safe, or that your network/networked devices are s...

Re: Raspberry Pi 'community'

There is one user (EimGhey) here that is nearly 30 years old, and acts like he is 10. You guys (Liz and the rest of the Pi Mods) cut him alot of slack as though he really were a child, and he isn't). [edit by mod. remove unfounded accusation] edit... Just say new post When you have multiple threads ...

Re: Raspberry Pi 'community'

When you have multiple threads in the Pi forum to the effect of: 'hey I am [in my 20's - 30's and] gay, and live here [some random State], any pi users (guys) want to hook up?', or 'hey, I suffer from an emotional/mental/brain development disorder, and think it is awesome and cool! Re: Bash script shrinks PI sdcard partition to minimum size.

This is no longer needed for those with the new version of raspbian jessie.

You can easily go from a larger sdcard to smaller card, and even backup to a usb thrumbdrive using the Menu/Accessories "SD Card Copier" app.

How are we supposed to have a reasonable discussion around here when over run with freaks and their cat pictures? I disagree; respectfully, you're a wise guy who finds fun in your special flavor of, annoying, forum trolling-- and placing an emoticon after what is seriously an attempt to push people...

Re: Permissions to logout/reboot (non pi user)

You can reboot and shutdown the system without sudo for non-Pi user, here is how: right "Alt"+prtScr/"SysRq" (you may need to push SysRq, then release it), then while still holding "Alt", hit "B", or using left Alt, simply ... "alt"+"sysrq"+"b" System will reboot, then use shutdown upper right hand ...
