Re: Did the soundmanager disappear in Raspbian 4?

If you are using the GUI you can choose by clicking on the speaker symbol at the top and choose analog/hdmi etc. Thanks gordon77. I only have a volume slider under that symbol, no analog/hmdi option. But I don't really have a problem switching output, I was just wondering if that "Audio Device...

Re: Did the soundmanager disappear in Raspbian 4?

https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/configuration/audio-config.md Like I said, I know of these options. But thanks anyway! What I was looking for is the "Audio Device Settings". I now realise that years ago, I did a "full install" and now a minimal installation. Maybe that...

Did the soundmanager disappear in Raspbian 4?

Hi,

It has been a while since I used Raspbian, but recently I bought a RPi 4.

I seem to remember you could set the default audio output in a sound or audio preference panel/manager. I know how to use amixer or raspi config, but I was just wondering if I remember this wrong or if it really changed?

Re: Bluetooth device names

@Douglas6, what do you mean exactly? That in the menu or in hcitools, the name will finally come if I wait long enough? Because that doesn't seem to happen.
Or should I use bluetoothctl?

I know from long ago bluetooth does work, but then it also took me a while before I figured it out...

Re: Bluetooth device names

After installing different bluetooth software and rebooting, I had a "Kernel panic-not syncing: VFS: unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(179,2)". Most repairing options involved NOOBS, so I had to reinstall everything... Anyway, hcitools scans, but then stops, showing no devices at al...

Bluetooth device names

Hi, I'm trying to connect a speaker with bluetooth. I have bluez tools installed. From the bluetooth menu as well as with the terminal (sudo bluetoothctl), I can see different devices, but only with the MAC address. That way, I don't know which one is my speaker. How do I get the names as well? I ha...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3B + no wifi

Thanks. I did the same: re-install everything. I have the same problem, but I found the problem. I installed Pibox ( http://p-node.org ) and configured some things (in /etc/hostapd/hostapd.conf, /etc/default/hostapd, /etc/dnsmasq.conf and /etc/rc.local). I think that is the reason for my error. I'm ...

Re: Raspberry Pi 3B + no wifi

I have the same problem here. RPi 3, Raspian Lite. I HAD wifi working, but suddenly only ethernet OR USB-wifi dongle work. NOT the internal wifi. I get the errors you mention when I use raspi-config. I tested if I still have the Wifi-hardware and that is recognised. I also have the correct network i...

Re: Screen size on 7inch monitor

Thank you, that was a useful hint. It doesn't solve my Mixxx-problem, because the space the mixxx skin takes, is defined in pixels and those stay the same.
But I already experimented a little with adjusting the skin, and that doesn't seem to be too difficult.

Screen size on 7inch monitor

Hi, One Raspberry is connected with a 7inch display. A lot of windows are to big. I found out I can drag them around to reach any part of it by using alt + click. I use that Pi to DJ (with a midi mixer, hifiberry, usb-soundcard and SDD disk) and the MIXXX program is to big. It's not really handy to ...

Re: Graphical desktop doesn't start up anymore

To clarify, I didn't remove xorg to my knowledge. But in trying to restore my desktop, I followed the steps of the tutorial you mention: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=133691. Most of the stuff I tried to install, got the message that it was already installed, which was to expect...

Graphical desktop doesn't start up anymore

Hi, After installing and removing stuff (to install gstreamer ugly plugins) and playing with the sources.list, I did a reboot and suddenly I'm stuck in a terminal mode. I could (re)install xorg, but that didn't help. When I type startx , I get an error "unable to connect tot X server". The...

Keymap for Bluetooth Keyboard

Hi, I bought apparantly quite an exotic bluetooth keyboard (Bluestork KB-MICRO//BT/BE). The "at" key and the hashtag are under 2 and 3, but whatever keyboard layout and country I choose, I can't type those symbols. I downloaded "Keymapper" but nothing happens when I open that. I ...

Re: Micro-USB gives bad connection

Thank you. I don't think this is the case this time. The plug works on another Raspberry Pi AND I have the same problem with another power supply, which also works on that Rpi. EDIT: it's a little bit of both. The wire and plug I was using last time, indeed was damaged. But other microUSB-plugs work...

Micro-USB gives bad connection

Hi, Since a while, the micro-connector on my RPi 3 B gives a bad connection. The male-USB from the power supply can move and that way, sometimes it's powered off, or I get an underpower warning. The power supply works fine on another Rpi 3 B+, so that's not the problem. The connector is still solder...

Re: Volume adjustment not working anymore

After deleting that file, it was remade with this setting:

Code: Select all

pcm.!default {
	type hw
	card 0
}

ctl.!default {
	type hw
	card 0
}
Which DIDN'T work anymore after a few updates, I had to copy-paste the above code in the .asoundrc file to get it working again. Sometimes things change :-)

Just Enough OS for Mixxx

If I wanted to make a Raspbian version only to run Mixxx (something like LibreELEC for Kodi), could I install Raspbian and throw anything away, exept the stuff to run Mixxx? Would that work? What else could I change to use all resources for Mixxx? Makes using the OpenGL Raspbian faster (someone said...

Set side panel of PCmanFM to "Places"

Hi, I searched like crazy, but can't find out how to set the side-panel of PCmanFM to icons . It's mentioned you CAN do that, but I can't find it in the settings. I also tried the configuration files (there are two, not sure which is really in use), but I don't know the right code (" side_pane_...

Volume adjustment not working anymore

Hi, I'm using Raspbian Stretch on Rpi3 with the Google Voice HAT. Everything worked fine until a few days ago: suddenly the volumeslider in the taksbar doesn't affect the volume anymore. Also the volume on Audacious doesn't work anymore, it only can mute the sound if turned down completely. Using al...

Re: Volume control issues (hopefully) solved

I have the same problem. The volume control in the task bar used to work, but not anymore. The files you named, all have the same text.Deleting ~/.asoundrc didn't recreate it. It was the same anyway. I rebooted twice. Volume control on individual programs works, but in Audacious, it seems more like ...
