Re: Future of raspberry pi - software related

A Raspbian Lite (command line) feature to duplicate the SD card. Maybe an option in raspi-config.

The current feature appears to be exclusive to the Desktop version of Raspbian.

Re: How bad/good is cooling on the Raspberry pi 4?

To get sub 50C temperatures, you'll probably have to look into an active cooling solution. The only other alternative is a large passive heat sink, but depending on the case design, temperature you want to achieve, and the amount of CPU load you want to run this thing continuously on, it may or may...

Re: Future of raspberry pi - software related

I believe there is a handy SD card copier feature but it’s only available with the desktop installation.

I’d like to see this made available from the command line for those of us that use Raspbian lite.

(Or maybe it already is and I missed it?)

Re: How many cores in a Pi 4??

I was wondering if someone knew exactly how many processing cores the Pi 4 has in it's ARM CPU??? Also the speed of each core??? I was thinking that the ideal Pi4 would have 4 or 6 processing cores, 2 GHz per core and 8Gb or 16Gb of RAM. Why I'm saying this is because while the Pi 4 is a major impr...

Hi! If your sd card is more than 32gb, you will need additional software to format it to FAT32. By default windows formats it as exFAT if its more than 32gb. PI cant understand this type.

I hope that person hasn’t been waiting 2 years for your answer.

I’ve learned a lot from this post. The main thing I’m glad the Pi was not around at the time of the Moon landing project, It would have never got off The launch Pad due to over heating. Huh? Never heard that anywhere. I have a 64 gb card in my Pi Zero and a 128 gb card in my Pi 4.

No problems at all.

If there's more to do to update the boot rom, I don't know what it is: https://i.imgur.com/4qsFzX0.png I trust everyone by default. But didn't the RPF - mess up the USB wiring - sell the Pi 4 with a closed, non-cooled box - say 80°C is OK when Samsung tells me 85 is bad... that's too close for comf...

No. You rewrote your entire first post. I'm curious as to why. I attached the Picture, add solutions for running KWrite&Dolpin with root and how to workaround the missing icons of dolpin. Thats cause to help other people that forced to use Buster, they will have the same Problems. I seen already of...

Yes, I ran this script this morning on my Pi 4 (4gb). Worked perfectly. One question I have though... All the old files are still there on the SD card...somewhere, right? (Or do they get deleted during the script?) And they don’t get updated when doing apt update/upgrade (also right?) If I were to g...

Not sure what you mean by “this” but assuming it’s a Raspberry Pi, you might consider an all-in-one kit.

Just an update on this... I decided to turn this into a mini-project. Since these Pis run headless, I bought a little Pi OLED display from Adafruit (https://www.adafruit.com/product/3527). It's about the size of a piece of Trident gum and is perfect for headless Pis. You can display some useful info...
