Re: Squeezelite with lcd and lirc support

Hi,
Really nice setup, don't hesitate to send more pictures :) . Tell me if you manage to make it work with lirc. If it doesn't work, I've just remembered that there is also a (less nice and more annoying) way to add interaction with buttons using a python script that send commands using telnet.

Re: ROS node for camera module

Dear MacHack, I think that it will be a good idea to transfer the video from the Raspberry Pi to the PC using a more optimised codec and create a ROS node into the PC to change the format and publish it to jpeg. The used bandwith could be critical over a Wifi link. What do you think? César I think ...

Squeezelite with lcd and lirc support

Hi, as most of you already know Squeezelite is a really good Squeezebox player with a good compatibility but lacks of a GUI with lcd and lirc support. On the other hand, Squeezeslave provides a good GUI for 2 line LCD but struggles with out of the ordinary audio files. So here is the mix of both. I ...

Re: GPU scaling of camera frames

Hi, I think what you are looking for is the "vc.ril.resize" component. You can check my code from http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=45178&start=100 . you should be able to attach it to the video port of the camera and have a callback function on the resizer to get the output ima...

Re: Pure Python camera interface

Hi, if you're looking in a way to resize the image in the GPU between the video_output_port and the encoder_input_port, you could take a look at my code that I wrote for the mjpeg-streamer : http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=45178&start=100 It uses a resizer component that I bor...

Re: Streaming mjpg from Raspberry Cam

Using the resizer code from wibble82 from his api http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=59300 , I've written a bit of code that let you have full field of view with the video port. As the binning is still missing, there is a 15 fps limitation. I added the "-fullfov" parameter which...

Re: An efficient and simple camera API - ready for use!

Hi, Thank you for your API. I wanted to let you know that thanks to your code, I managed to enable full field of view for video stream in the mjpeg streamer plugin http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=45178&start=100 . Before reading your code, I didn't know that there was a resize...

Re: Streaming mjpg from Raspberry Cam

I was wondering do you also have a similar solution for an external (usb) webcam ? So not the raspicam but a simple UVC cam ? Unfortunately, I only work with the camera module for the raspberry pi so I don't have any other solution for usb webcam. Did you have a reason for changing line 831/832? I ...

Re: Streaming mjpg from Raspberry Cam

Hi Cromtel,
cmake is not installed on your pi. To install it, just run
sudo apt-get install cmake

Without it, you cannot compile the plugin.

Re: Streaming mjpg from Raspberry Cam

Oups, I forgot to give the instruction on how to build it. To use the video function, you need to download the file from my previous post and extract it. After, you need to clone the github from jacksonliam https://github.com/jacksonliam/mjpg-streamer and replace the file mjpg-streamer/mjpg-streamer...

Re: Streaming mjpg from Raspberry Cam

Hello jacksonliam, it's actually possible to use the video_port to stream jpeg images. I've been developping the ROS node for the raspberry camera module which basically do this http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=54092 . By a little modification of your code, I've also added it t...

Re: ROS node for camera module

Theoratically, the node can output 1920*1080 jpeg images at 30 Hz. In fact, when debugging the node, I managed to save in ram 1920*1080 jpeg images at 30 Hz. However, at this high resolution/framerate, the bottleneck is the network bandwidth. A 1920*1080 jpeg is around 1.2 MB, meaning a 36 MB/s band...

Re: ROS node for camera module

This node is supposed to be running on the RPi itself. Then you can get the images through the ROS topic on another computer. I've recently added the necessary code for camera info management. This way it's really easy to calibrate the camera module using the camera_calibration node and remove the d...

ROS node for camera module

Hi everybody, This is my first topic here and I think it might be useful for some people. During the last 2 days, I've been developing a ROS node for the camera module of the RPi. For those who don't know what ROS is, you can learn more at http://www.ros.org . The goal of this node is to grab images...

Re: RMA with RS

I've sent my pi back for RMA last week, tracking says that RS received it last thursday.
Haven't got any news since then, but I'm waiting and might worry if I don't get any news by the end of next week.

If using composite after first time do you have full colors or just grey shades?
I haven't had time to check with composite, I was using HDMI.
I sent it back to RS for exchange, I'm waiting for the new one and will tell if the problem was a faulty pi.

RMA with RS

Hi, As described in this post , I think after months of waiting, I have a faulty pi  . I received it from RS 5 days ago and I would like to exchange it with a working one. I've seen that I have to follow the instructions on http://authenticate.rsdelivers.com/staticpages/pi/returns.aspx . But as...

Re: Pi shuts down soon after powering up at random points

Hi, I have the exact same problem. I got my pi from RS one week ago. I can boot it but after some time (from 20s to 2 min), it just shuts down. My screen goes off and only the red led stays on. I've tried with 3 different power supplies from 700 mA to 2A, including the one suplied by RS which is a 1...
