Re: M2 SSD for Pi4

@HawaiianPi Relax. :D !I'm only saying that not all USB3-enclosures are alike, so for a buyer it's valuable to choose the right interface (anything that sits between, encloses or connects the SSD) and the Pi4. It's important to choose one that supports UASP and not one that supports only bulkmode/us...

Re: M2 SSD for Pi4

Not sure ab o ut that. There are differences. Differences that will result in increased performance after being severely gimped by a USB enclosure connected to a Pi4B? :? Got any evidence? Because I have actually tested this stuff, so I'm not just talking out my okole here. Another relevant issue: ...

Re: M2 SSD for Pi4

2.5" SATA, mSATA, M.2 SATA, AHCI, NVMe will all perform the same in a USB 3.0 enclosure. Not sure abut that. There are differences. Another relevant issue: does the interface support UAS(P), https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_Attached_SCSI I have a cheap USB3 SATA enclosure that does not support UAS...

Re: Using HQ camera without an attached HDMI display gives no preview over VNC

I believe RealVNC relies on there being a graphical interface. Assuming one has it installed, one needs to enable VNC and the relevant modes per the post and link above. I use it with a 3A+. Jack You can enable RealVNC with raspi-config, but doesn't work with default Linux viewers, and I'm not part...

Please note that we haven't tested Libcamera on Pi0.
I know, exactly the reason i tried, I can't power a Pi 4 from my phone or a simple battery pack, but I can power a Zero.

And it works. :)

qcam is reporting a fps of 1-3. Low but probably enough for photography.

Re: Libcamera, HQ and Zero

FYI, I used a slightly older image (created feb 2020), so maybe that's the reason the line was absent. It's always worth making sure your image is up to date! We release bug fixes all the time. Yes, but it's a bit silly to use a new image every time one is released, cause you're losing your code an...

Does this also work on a Zero with Buster Lite?

And how do you set the options (capture mode) CLI?

Re: Max weight for lenses

Thanks all for your inspirational remarks. Actually I'm planning to try the classic `bag of rice`, and see how that works out in the field. Probably biggest challenge to get the horizontal level right. My plan: bag of rice, mini spirit level, battery-pack, get both the FoM value and a screenshot in ...

Re: Max weight for lenses

Yes, I would mount my lens that way if it had a tripod mount, it doesn't. https://www.pentaxforums.com/userreviews/tokina-sd-70-210mm-f4-0-5-6.html At the moment I'm using a mount c - Pentax K bajonet adapter, an example with a Pentax 35mm lens (reversed) https://dev.webonomic.nl/macro-photography-w...

Max weight for lenses

Is there an official max weight for the screw mount of the HQ camera?

I'm trying out some old Tokina glass lenses, and the mount seems to be OK carrying a 13cm 600gr 80-210 zoom lens.

But it does look painful. :o

Should it be OK?

HQ UVC gadget and raspistll -fw

I wonder if UVC gadget mode can be used with raspistill and --fw option on a Pi Zero, so you could drive the HQ camera with just a USB cable. UVC gadget is working OK as webcam, but I would like to use it for photography as well. https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=148361&start=5...

Re: Is dit uberhaubt mogelijk?

Maak playlist:

Code: Select all

# playlist.m3u8
file:///home/pi/Videos/video_1.mkv
file:///home/pi/Videos/video_2.mkv
Start vlc met playlist, fullscreen en repeat:

Code: Select all

vlc -L -f playlist.m3u8

... defaults.bluealsa.delay 10000 [/code]works on my Kodi box. I guess delay is for dealing with latency, and 10000 is the default , but I don't see/hear much difference tweaking this number. And restarting Kodi is needed for changes taking effect. I try to get rid of a high latency, but should I l...

Re: Pi Zero + Camera Board = USB webcam gadget?

AFAICS it's only working when the path is /home/pi/uvc-gadget, I tried it on a different path /home/pi/dev/uvc-gadget on another zero, and it did not work, although i edited the path in piwebcam(.service).
