Video capture software - Ubuntu Arm to Rpi?

This is a beginners question really, I have a video camera I use with my telescope ( a Point Grey Chameleon ) for which Point Grey have written capture software for the Beagle board. I'd like to try and make it work on my RPi, what would I need to do to convert it from Ubuntu Arm7 to Debian Arm? I h...

Well there's only so many ways you can make a rectangular box look different, I do see some significant differences between those two though, notably the gpio access and the way they bolt closed.

I like the design of it, the overhangs make it apart from all the other generic boxy cases out there.

Re: New case concept!

Looks great. I like the idea of putting it however you like it to sit without interfering with any ports. Except you can't, unless you're not using the vga/sound ports or not using the hdmi port. The SD card is going to stick too far out at one end and you're bound to want to plug something into th...

Bad, neoprene is an insulator, better to have the circuit board sitting on little polyurethane feet, it would still be 'non slip' and have air space underneath.

Quite honestly that's shocking, I'd contact the seller and get a replacement/refund.

Re: Pi Dimensions

SD card adds 12mm.

Edge of the board at SD card to the far end of the usb ports is 92mm (add the 12 for the SD card)

Total width is 68mm

Of course you need to plug stuff in to it too :)

Re: PSP Battery?

I used an ARdrone battery and one of those USB cigarette lighter chargers to drop the 11.1v to the 5v the Pi requires Similar here, I use a Philips lithium power pack, the 5v output on it is only 350ma so I use the 19v output and downconvert it using a car charger. I get 6 to 8 hours out of it with...

That's ok, the reason I'm so sure is because I've seriously thought about doing just what you were hoping to do, I like that idea.

Can you check to see if there is power feeding from the hub back into the usb port of the RPi? plenty on here about this causing issues.

Re: anybody using a generic aluminium case shown here?

Once you get yours you'll see what I mean, you would have to cut the case along it's length just to get the RPi into it since you could not slide it in from one end.

Re: anybody using a generic aluminium case shown here?

It wouldn't work I think, the RPis' pcb is about the same width as the widest part of that case and you have phono, audio and hdmi sockets sticking out along the sides even further. Add to that the ethernet and usb ports on one end are ~17mm high which means you'd need to mount the RPi low down and ...

Have you tried it on a powered usb hub? It might be that the RPi just can't supply enough power for it to work.

Another thing you could try is the Raspbian distro but if I read you right you said you've tried with both keyboard and mouse disconnected at the same time, this says to me that neither of them are the problem.

Actually a bit long, you can get 3 business card boxes for £1.99 which are a near perfect fit and you get two to practice on.
