Re: Unable to install packages on my new rpi2

According to one of the forum moderators here, Kingston do not support the Pi, so it may just be a straight forward case of an incompatible microSD card. If you have no luck resolving this problem via any other means, then I'd highly recommend a Sandisk Ultra or Sandisk Extreme as a replacement. Th...

Re: Unable to run apt-get upgrade

I got the following message: delayed block allocation failed for inode 44095 at logical offset 0 with max blocks 8 with error 5 Those messages imply a problem writing to the SD card. Is your red PWR LED showing a steady light, or does it flash/go out? Do you get a small coloured square in the top r...

Re: Unable to run apt-get upgrade

pierre_m wrote:You don't have to run rpi-update. It's only for experiment.

Instead :

Code: Select all

apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
Thanks for your answer.
The trouble starts when i run those two commands.
Any suggestions for workarounds?

Re: Unable to run apt-get upgrade

I tried something else today. I installed a fresh image on the SD (stand-alone), expanded the filesystem and ran rpi-update. Instead of apt I used aptitude to update and upgrade, when it reached the libc6 I got the following message: delayed block allocation failed for inode 44095 at logical offset ...

Re: Unable to run apt-get upgrade

What is your SD card size? The SD must be 8GB or larger for Raspbian Jessie. You could have a fake SD card? What does df -h show? If you use the stand alone version (not NOOBS) then you MUST run sudo raspi-config and do >> expand filesystem << and reboot before doing ANYTHING else. I am using a 32 ...

ShiftPlusOne wrote:For how long did you let it run and how did you determine it was frozen?
It ran for solid 20 minutes. In the beginning only the mouse and keyboard did not respond but then the clock stopped updating, so I assumed it to be frozen.

When running it using xrdp remote desktop the link breaks down.

Unable to run apt-get upgrade

Hi guys I am new to the RPI but I ran almost instantaneously into troubles. I got my RPI, formatted my SD card to FAT32 and uploaded NOOBS. Then inserted it into to RPI which booted perfectly. Since I am going to use it headless I installed xrdp, which also went smoothly. Then I would make sure that...
